Zidel again; how do you feel about Michael Kennedy? What defines "notable"? Does famous also include infamous? By taking off his name from the WHS article, is this creating a POV, as opposed to the offical policy of POV? What are your thoughts? Anyway, talk to you later.

Howdy, I am currently a junior at Westfield High and don't know how else to contact you through wikipedia, so sorry bout the edit here. I want to thank you for helping to keep the school's site clear during this week from all the vandalism that might occur. I do not know if you attend WHS but you most likely know we have been hounded by the press for statements and qoutes all week. My answer has always been "Bulldogs are family, and family sticks together." I would appreciate it if you would not delete that from the top of the page.

And what rule is the qoute violating? Wikipedia has no set rules, only the five pillars. The qoute does infact follow all five. would you be happier if I were to put it in qoutations? If I were to do that, then it would be legally be a qoute and therefore allowed on a wiki.

WikiProject Star Wars newsletter

Project updates Greetings, Star Wars editors! Deckiller here. It's the first edition of the WikiProject Star Wars newsletter, and yes, it's a semi-ripoff of the Esperenza newsletter. I think it's important to begin with some good news: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Jabba the Hutt have reached featured article status! Kudos to the editors who helped obtain these achievements! WikiProject Star Wars is also on a mission to improve Star Wars articles using the following ideas: An out of universe perspective versus an in universe perspective (see Wikipedia:Writing about fiction and the future ammendments to our manual of style) Evolving lists into regular articles Moving excess information and specifics to Wookieepedia (and providing links to Wookieepedia per the "see also" and/or "external links" sections) Enhanced communication amongst WikiProject members More to come These should provide the basic steps needed to improve and "encyclopedia-fy" the Star Wars series of articles. Things to do There are plenty of Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/things to do. An update to the page is coming very soon, and it will represent the new and exciting changes that Star Wars pages will be receiving! Out-of-universe versus in-universe perspectives Although details are forthcoming, I would like to take this time to explain the gist of this concept. Wikipedia has generally agreed that fictional articles should write about the topic from a "real world" perspective, focusing on real world issues and topics, with a section or two for plot synopsis and so on. Jabba the Hutt is a solid character example, and Clone Wars (Star Wars) is quickly moving toward an out of universe perspective.

Article evolution As many of you know, lists of minor Star Wars-related themes are very common on Wikipedia; however, since these may be seen as violations of Wikipedia policy (and having seperate articles would breach even more policies), the tentative solution is to create general articles on a list's topic (for example, turning List of Star Wars devices into Technology of Star Wars, which allows us to cover everything from hyperspace to comlinks in a general encyclopedic fashion). This can be very tough for some broad topics, so the key is organization. I encourage all editors to list their ideas on the WikiProject talk page. It will be a very difficult — but tangible — effort. For an example, let me point you to the Final Fantasy WikiProject. Some of us over at that WikiProject decided to turn various components of Final Fantasy X, such as Pyreflies, Yevon, and the backstory — into an article describing the world of Spira. Location descriptions were given a List of locations in Spira article, and the details themselves were placed on the Spira (Final Fantasy X) page. This is a decent template to follow — however, we will need to place priority on out-of-universe, "real life" topics and perspectives in realtion to the article. Sounds confusing, eh? WHS Alumni

Just thought you should know, it appears that most other high schools and most universities list notable alumni by Class year, including Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, and West Point Military Academy, although there is no true consensus among the articles. What do you think?

Hmm, I'll see if I can some consenus on this, because the lack of unity bothers me. As for notable 2006ers, no one really comes to mind -- yet. There are a few that I will keep an eye out, but have yet to earn their place; only one really is Evan Royster, who is awesome at football, I bet you he'll make the NFL. Pictures, I will get in October, I'm in southern VA right now.

Wikiproject Indonesia Newsletter

New newsletter WikiProject Indonesia has grown incredibly! Two months ago, when the project was created, there were only two members, but now, we have got over 20 members, and hopefully it will keep increasing. Because of this large number, now WikiProject Indonesia has it's own newsletter, which will be delivered every week on Monday morning, around 22:00 (UTC). If you have any idea and suggestions, please do not hesitate to contribute to the next newsletters. We also need to find a better banner for the newsletter, so just post it on project's talk page. With your help, we can reach the even the impossible goal! "Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita runtuh" What's new? Several ways to increase the interactions between editors have been proposed. For now, the best solution would be the IRC Channel just for WikiProject Indonesia. Please go to #wikipedia-id if you have had experiences with IRC Channels. Or read the instructions at Wikipedia:IRC. Three new barnstar design have been proposed! If you find a great editor with excellent contributions to Indonesia-related articles, give him/her a barnstar, or maybe two or three! See the barnstars at Wikiproject Indonesia Barnstars.

Articles improvements The previous two weeks were maybe the best and tiring week for some of us. On the good side, we have got a new Good Article, which is Toraja. Congratulations for all editors who have involved in the expansion. Yet we have failed to get two Good Article status, which are Tourism in Indonesia and Indonesia. However with the spirit of 1945 we will always accomplish many things! Starting this week (October 17), the collaboration durations have been extended, so now we can collaborate to improve a particular article for two weeks straight. Please leave any recommendations or suggestions on the collaboration talk page. Also, while copy-editing is a very useful thing to do, researching and expanding the article, or maybe one or two sections would be extremely useful, because it is the goal of the collaboration, expanding and getting a good article status. The last collaboration was not a huge success, the Pulau Dewata is still a "start" article and has not improved much.
