DAB pages

Please note that I've once again removed the entry you made to the James Landis disambiguation page. Per WP:MOSDAB and more specifically WP:MOSDABRL, only subjects that have their own Wikipedia page or are directly mentioned in an associated article should be linked to. The point of the page is to differentiate articles with the same name, not to provide a list of anyone who ever had the name. Jezebel'sPonyoshhh 02:23, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Ralph Lewis

Hi. I've moved back your page move of Ralph Lewis (Birth of a Nation actor) to Ralph Lewis (actor). The other Ralph Lewis doesn't (yet) have an article and doesn't appear to be that notable. If/when the other actor does get an article, I think a better disambig move would be Ralph Lewis (actor born 1872), instead of linking him to one of his many films. Any comments, please get back to me. Thanks! Lugnuts (talk) 10:39, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

That's OK. I made the move per Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(people)#Difficult_to_disambiguate:_some_examples. I'll create the page for the other actor. Thanks for letting me know! --Bensin (talk) 20:51, 3 February 2010 (UTC) (edited by Bensin (talk) 21:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC))

Removing that archive.org parameter

When you're doing that, could you please be careful not to break the urls? You've done so at least twice so far: [1], [2]. Thanks, Steve Smith (talk) 01:09, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Oh! Now I see how they're supposed to work. Thanks! --Bensin (talk) 01:14, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for remedying. Really, I'm not sure what happened with those templates anyway - they worked fine when I put them in as {{archive.org}} a couple of years ago, and then somehow they get switched over to {{Internet Archive film}} and they suddenly think they're looking for a movie. In summary, technology is hard. Steve Smith (talk) 01:18, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
No problem! I made the same misstake in Dan Backs, Bharat Agnihotri and Moe Amery but removed "] [" from them too so the links at least work again. --Bensin (talk) 01:22, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I also found that Pearl Calahasen, Laurie Blakeman and Bill Bonko used the IA-template so I removed it. --Bensin (talk) 01:53, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Films

Hi. Can you please not leave empty sections with expand tags? It looks lazy and untidy. If you don't want to add any text please just add a cast and leave it. Thanks. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:45, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I think it encourages readers to edit the articles. I guess it's simply a matter of taste. I don't revert edits that remove the templates, so feel free to do so. Thanks for the input. --Bensin (talk) 20:54, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Bensin! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 501 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Cajsalisa Ejemyr - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Lilies of the Field (novel), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.freebase.com/view/en/lilies_of_the_field. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:46, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

The page the bot refers to took its material from Wikipedia. --Bensin (talk) 17:53, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

The article Crash (1984 TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable television series.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Claritas § 11:48, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

An AFD you participated in is being redone a day after it closed

I'm sending this to everyone who participated in the AFD for Crash (1984 TV series) who hasn't yet stated their case in the second nomination. Dream Focus 16:14, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

I didn't know there was another template for internet archive clips to distinguish from features. I wish there was one for short films though, since clip implies something incomplete. Tehw1k1 (talk) 06:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

I completely agree with you! I might create one if nobody else does. --Bensin (talk) 19:45, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
I created Template:Internet Archive short film. Feel free to improve it. --Bensin (talk) 22:01, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Das wandernde Bild

Hi. I've removed some empty sections because it can make a page look a bit untidy if there is nothing in them at all. You can always reintroduce them when you have prepared your content for them.--Kudpung (talk) 17:48, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

I think they encourage readers to participate and improve the article. I won't revert your edit though. Thanks for letting me know. --Bensin (talk) 19:58, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Incubator: Crash (1984 TV series)

Hi Bensin, I've reviewed your evaluation request here. I think the article still suffers from the problems that brought it to AFD in the first place, there is no indication of notability. The mere fact the show existed is insufficient. Being broadcast in three countries is not necessarily all that notable either, Scandinavian languages are similar enough, and the audiences small enough, that it could conceivably just be a piece of garbage that the producers sold cheaply. I don't know that of course, so I would be looking for sources that showed the series was discussed in other media. One of the interwikis, Danish I think, mentioned the show was similar to Dr. Who in its use of "special effects", which is an interesting angle, since Dr. Who used cardboard boxes and plasticine for "special effects" but was much-loved as a cult show.

As it stands, the candidate article just says that such-and-such a series was filmed and aired, and was not a success (unsourced). You mention that the participants were notable, but notability is not inherited, so that doesn't really count (unless, say, it was a labour of love, a childhood dream of the famous director maybe - but then you need a source).

I would recommend that you post to dk:wiki and ask the Danish-speakers there to look for sources in print media. Don't worry about using English language, most Danes know English well. You could start out with Kærlig Hilsen! which means "Regards!" more or less, and apologize for speaking only English. You would need to explain that en:wiki may have much more rigorous standards for article inclusion than their own wiki. I know for sure they have lots of popular magazines (I have family there, but not wiki-family :), so the sources should be findable.

That's my take on it anyway, your comments are welcome. Franamax (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Crash title.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Crash title.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

The image is not orphaned. See rationale on the image page. --Bensin (talk) 10:21, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
