Speedy deletion nomination of Pepinia bulbosa[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Pepinia bulbosa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi, Bromels! I've restored the article in question. Such stubs do indeed meet our criteria for inclusion and I don't think this speedy deletion was warranted. I have added a bit of information, though, to give you an idea of what might be included to avoid this problem in the future. You could certainly at least mention where the species is native or endemic to and inclusion of a reference might be helpful. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help as you figure out how to navigate and build articles on Wikipedia. To start, you can take note of some of the changes I made on the Pepinia bulbosa article to get an idea of what's typically expected of new plant articles. Portea alatisepala[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Portea alatisepala, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://fcbs.org/butcher/Portea_alatisepala_vs_Aechmea_rubrolilacina.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:40, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Typo in Greigia articles[edit]

Hi Bromels. It looks like the template you are using to create Greigia articles contains a typo: They all read "in endemic to", instead of "is endemic to". Just a headsup. Gonzonoir (talk) 12:39, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Bromels (talk) 13:09, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Autoreviewer[edit]

Hi Bromels, as you are currently very active at article creation, have you considered nominating yourself for autoreviewer status at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Autoreviewer? That way your articles won't be reviewed by the new page patrollers. ϢereSpielChequers 11:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Cultivar articles[edit]

Hi, Bromels! Wow, you've been prolific in article creation. Nice job! I did wonder if perhaps you could take the time to move all the new cultivar articles you created to the format that includes the quotes, e.g. like I just did with Tillandsia Wo to Tillandsia 'Wo'. Most of our cultivar articles follow that format, though there's no specific convention spelled out anywhere. And I gather that this format is typical for most horticultural trades - is it different for Bromeliaceae? I know the orchid trade has some specific nomenclatural conventions... Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 02:00, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

I was on the fence on the quote issue. I think I'll do as you suggest and add the quotes along with a redirect page so that those who don't care about quotes can end up on the same page. Bromels (talk) 04:16, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Sounds like a plan. I don't mean to impose, but since you seem like such a Bromeliaceae expert, would you mind terribly if I sent you a few photos to identify? I've been put in charge of labeling the greenhouse collection at work and I'm stumped on the bromeliads. They're likely common and easy to ID as they're probably from hardware or grocery stores. I know at least in the carnivorous plant trade, there are only a few common cultivars sold in these places. Feel free to decline if you're swamped with other work! Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 03:41, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

The best place to post pictures for ID is on the GardenWeb.com bromeliad forum. There are some real sharp people who participate on that forum and they enjoy the challenge of the unknown plant. Bromels (talk) 01:26, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Redaktor Wikipedia 600px.png

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 19:08, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Neoregelia 'Dr. Who'[edit]

I expanded your stub article for possible inclusion in Wikipedia:Did you know. Would you possibly have any additional information on L. Wetzel, who appears to be the originator of this hybrid cultivar specimen? KimChee (talk) 22:39, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
