File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Aegisdramon b.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:02, 30 March 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:02, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Logan Fell, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wiki.vampire-diaries.net/Logan_Fell.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 05:03, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Logan Fell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article, copied from a creative-commons licensed work here does not permit derivative works, which is an unsuitable license for a collaborative writing environment such as Wikipedia in which written works are commonly edited.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. VQuakr (talk) 05:06, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Logan Fell. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. License tagging for File:Slayerdramon b.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Slayerdramon b.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:05, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Logan Fell has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

[edit]

Hi, Bruce, and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. I noticed that you created three Digimon articles recently – Dramon, Aegisdramon, and Slayerdramon. While I'm sure you put in some hard work writing those articles, I've made each of them into redirect pages pointed at List of Digimon. In other words, whenever you type "Dramon," for example, into the search box, or click on a link to Dramon, you end up at the List of Digimon. I did this because, although there are millions of Wikipedia articles, Wikipedia does not allow articles about just anything. Usually, in order to justify a topic having an article, we require evidence of the subject's notability, which can be demonstrated with significant coverage in reliable sources. Most Digimon don't fit these criteria. For example, just look at Category:Mega Digimon; most of the links there are italicized, indicating that they're redirect pages, not articles. Anyway, if you think the topics you created are notable according to Wikipedia's guidelines, feel free to restore the articles and we can hold a broader discussion to decide if these subjects merit an article. Orphaned non-free image File:Slayerdramon b.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Slayerdramon b.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Userpage contents

[edit]

Bruce, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Fall Lake Hill (talk · contribs · count) - those contents appear to be unconnected with any edits here on Wikipedia. If you can demonstrate that they are sandbox edits relative to some article, I may permit you to keep them...but if this is some myspace related episode list I'm afraid its going to have to go. Also, what is your connection to that user Fall Lake Hill? Syrthiss (talk) 13:09, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have read WP:USERPAGE correct? While we do allow some latitude in userpage contents, your userpage is for material related to the construction of the encyclopedia and limited biographical information. Not hoax lists of episodes of a nonexistent series. There are plenty of other webspace providers that let you put up whatever takes your fancy. Syrthiss (talk) 13:25, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for File:Fnbstefan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fnbstefan.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
