From David_FLXD[edit]

Hi, I have done a number of WP:NPOV edits on the page without, I trust, messing too much with the content. Please tag the end of the opening para, and the other one further down, where subscriber no's, view no's, video no's, sale no's etc are stated, each para with an INDPENDENT reference substantiating those figures. As far as I am concerned, that is all that is required to accept the article, at least as a Start Class article. When you've done that, message me. Don't submit it again until you have done that! David_FLXD (Talk) 10:26, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi David, Would it here be appropriate to link to the YouTube page in this account? I believe that the number reporting on YouTube should be classified as independent even if the page is a user-generated page. I have looked at other prominent YouTubers such as Christina Grimmie, DeStorm Power, Tay Zonday, and George Watsky and they all seem to do this. Thanks!

I think that would be ok. It sounds ok... Do it, let me know when you've done it and I'll see what the links look like. If they're ok, I might - no promises, now! - be able to accept the article. David_FLXD (Talk) 17:55, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done!

Aaaaand... Attempted! Phut.

Hmm. Someone seems to have blocked the mainspace "Dave Days" page from creation. Apparently there was a problem back in 2008/09 and the page was admin-deleted (which prevents recreation without senior admin intervention). I have raised the matter on the Administrators' Incident Noticeboard and asked for help. It's going to be up to them what they do about it. Will let you know when I hear back from them. David_FLXD (Talk) 20:24, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! Please let me know.

Hi, one editor (Zad68) feels DD is now notable and has initiated a review process to determine whether Wikipedia should unblock the page and allow your article to be created. Discussion is currently very close. Not totally against. Editors will not be pleased with multiple submissions. Someone (unregistered IP no.) has submitted a second, very short, article on DD with no sources at Articles for Creation. If this was you, you should withdraw it immediately, which would show good faith. However, it doesn't "feel" like it was you, and I don't think it was - I'm just wanting to make sure I'm covering all the bases! If it was not you, the editors will not hold the actions of another, unconnected person against your application to create the article. In that case, IF they approve the unblocking, they would create your article and delete the other. The big question is which way will the decision go. You can follow the discussion here. Don't make any inputs, it's purely an editors' forum. David_FLXD (Talk) 23:25, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot - please let me know as soon as you hear anything! You guys rock! That's strange... snuffle, snuffle, sniff. I could swear there should be four tildes somewhere right around here... sniff, sniiffff. No, nothing. Odd. Very odd.

Byrondays90 (talk) 06:23, 9 July 2012 (UTC)Sorry! I'm new to this Byrondays90 (talk) 06:23, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Admins are still discussing, but most of those voting are coming down in favour of creating your article. I think it's going to be ok - when eventually they get there! David_FLXD (Talk) 18:51, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note in case you didn't see it: Your Dave Days article has been created, and a couple of editors have already made some minor improvements to it. You had done enough work on it to convince them to allow creation even though Dave Days as a subject had been previously blocked. Well done! David_FLXD (Talk) 09:38, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Dave Days at the 2012 VidCon in Anaheim, California.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dave Days at the 2012 VidCon in Anaheim, California.jpeg, which you've sourced to facebook.com/ddays. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:25, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ryan. I interact personally with Dave and he has sent me this picture himself requesting that it be his new Wikipedia home page picture. Please let me know how I can ensure that it is not deleted. Thanks. Byrondays90 (talk) 21:41, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Byron! The easiest way is to have Dave send permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. You can use the text provided at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiriesRyan Vesey Review me! 21:52, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Byron, I forgot to tell you that after the email is sent, you should replace the deletion tag with {{OTRS Pending}}. Ryan Vesey Review me! 02:51, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
