Draft article

[edit]

I have tried creating an article in my sandbox. Is there anyone can help me to ensure that my article is okay and enough? Thank you.

The draft of the article fails the basic requirements for a stand alone article, indication that reliably published third party sources have found the subject worthy of significant coverage. The "article" is entirely based upon someone's linked in profile which is not a Reliably published source, nor is it third party. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:51, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is also an encyclopedia and not a free webhost to support purely promotional content about a subject nor a directory where companies self create profiles are listed. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:54, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help Needed

[edit]

{{helpme}}

I am new here. Before I create my own article, is there any recommended articles that I may try to edit? Thank you

You are taking a very good decision in thinking of practicing editing and becoming better in editing wikipedia first before creating your own personal articles. You want to know of some articles recommended to be edited. That is a relative thing, to say. It depends on your interests. Try choosing articles related to a field of your interest and start editing them. There are separate groups for separate topics on wikipedia. These are called Wikipedia:WikiProjects. Particular wiki projects are focused on improving articles related to a particular field. For example Wiki Project Physics focuses on physics related articles. Choose a wiki project of you interest from the directory of Wiki Projects here - Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory. Enter a Wiki project related to the field of your interest. In the project page there must be a link to the most popular pages in of that project . The link would be something like - Wikipedia:WikiProject (name of wikiproject)/Popular_pages. Go there. There, there will be a list of the popular articles. Alongside them there status would be written. The ratings are (from best to worst) - Featured > A > GA > B > C > START > STUB. Choose a lowere class (start or stub) article that interests you and start improving it. Since it is very popular there will be very less difficulty in finding more information and good sources of information, for that article. That way you'll help improve a popular yet not-good article !!. Hope this satisfies you. For any further question visit my talk page

and if by "my own article" you meant an article about you as a person, the answer is: you shouldn't. see WP:COI & WP:AUTOBIO. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:35, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
When creating a new article from scratch, the best practice is to create it in your sandbox (click the video), or use the articles for creation process. With either of those methods, you can ask for / receive advice as you develop the article and not have other editors immediately treating it as all articles in the public main space are treated giving you time to fix errors, provide appropriate sourcing, ensuring that the subject meets the requirements for a stand alone article, etc.. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:40, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Planate Management Group LLC, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
