Chris G.: It is my own photo, so there are no copyright issues. But I don't see how to insert that copyright tag into the file. HELP!

As someone who has traveled down this particular road, I'd suggest being quite careful. It took me about ten seconds to definitively prove what some suspected from your logs. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 00:48, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi Chris! Thank you for your messages dated 30 April and 1 May on File:ZeynepKoltukBizimEvinHalleriScreenshot.png. I am about to revise some images I uploaded in the past for which I could not catch up later regarding precisions, mostly due to lack of time. I think I will let this one gently get deleted to replace it with a more up-to-date image, of the character the actress is playing in her new series. I am assuming Template:ScreenshotU, together with the complete relevant information, will be the right one. Regards. Cretanforever
Hello Mr. Administrator : D
Can you give me a hand with deleting this article i made. it called I Want to Kill You Like They Do In the Movies. I want it to be deleted because it gives no new information that can't already be found at The High End of Low. So could you delete it? I already Blanked it. Hi. Just a quick note to say that the archiving by your bot seems bugged just now. Thanks for the hard work. --Dweller (talk) 09:32, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- I dunno what's more admirable - how clever you are, or all the good work you do round here. --Dweller (talk) 12:10, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks :) The bot was getting confused with some of the timestamps, and the confusion was further worsened by the fact that TRM was decratted so the bot didn't want to archive those threads either. --Chris 13:14, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Do you think you've sussed it now? --Dweller (talk) 13:26, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah should be working now. --Chris 13:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Deletion of File:Khre-com.PNG
Hi, I just noticed that this file, File:Khre-com.PNG was deleted because it was unused. I was hoping that it could undeleted because I've just reverted some changes to the article it was used in. I've been a bit busy for the past few weeks and didn't notice the changes to the article until now.
This image is a screen shot of an remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The original game is a 2D Game Boy Advance game, while the remake is a 3D PlayStation 2 game. The screen shot illustrates a significant visual change between the two, but it was replaced with File:KingdomHeartsReCoMCover.jpg, an image of the remake's cover art, which does not add much to the reader's understanding in my opinion.
Please let me know if this it can be undeleted, or if I should just upload another version. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:50, 7 May 2009 (UTC))
- I've undeleted the image. Sorry about the late reply. --Chris 13:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Yet another...
Just wondering how Yet Another Redirect Cleanup Bot was doing. I noticed he's done very little since approval, and I was curious whether things were okay with it, or when you expect it to be running at full throttle. (I ask mainly because there are two open requests by other people to do much the same thing, and I want to know whether or not to tell them you have it covered.) All the best, – Quadell (talk) 14:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- The bot is functioning fine. The additional 12 hour check just delays the deletions a bit. --Chris 08:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Please see the information; I am now removing the PUIC tag from the image. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 12:59, 4 May 2009 (UTC)"
- I redrew the original image into Photoshop CS, cut it apart into three pieces then reassembled it as a composite. I wasn't sure how to label it as it began from a sourced image that was on a website that did not indicate any copyright status of the original drawing. I contacted the website and the images have been posted for free distribution. I thought if I changed the image substantially it would be acceptable as a new image? I can add the correct tag (subst:npd|name of source) to make the image comply with its origin. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 10:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC).
- Here is the exact verbatim quote from the email I received from Richard Ferriere, the orginal artist who created the first drawing:

Dear Richard
I have just written an article on the Sud-Est (SNCASE) SE-2010 Armagnac and wanted to add a 3-view. I located one of the 3-views on the Wings 2.12 website. Using this drawing as a basis, I made a composite drawing. Is it possible to get your approval to use the original drawing on the website for the composite drawing?
Here are the two: Original:

- The tag you have now added is correct, so my bot shouldn't touch the image. --Chris 11:35, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, it wasn't just your bot as I had difficulty in attributing the source properly but hopefully, the latest edit should work. FWiW, Thanx. Bzuk (talk) 13:32, 15 May 2009 (UTC).

Chris G Bot 3
Hello. I know, I am a nuisance. According to the Bot's userpage, it works every 24 hours. It seems it normally operates much more frequently than that - does it mean 24 hours after the "done" or "notdone"? Seems to be a bit sleepy of late, but perhaps that's my perception.
Do you think you could put a couple of lines of info in lay speak on the userpage, so morons like me can easily understand the basics of what it does when? --Dweller (talk) 10:08, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Would you mind helping me?
I've got a fairly small piece of code that I wrote for a few friends to help them keep up with their watched pages on IRC in realtime, but it kind of has an error on line 195 (if($d[1] == '001')), it's an undefinend offset so I assume it can't get data from the socket. It's got three classes, one for the main loop, one for auxiliary functions, and one for connection. My friend recommended I talk to you since you've scripted some pretty impressive code, and I'd be really thankful if you took a look. If you haven't got the time it's cool. --Yamakiri 17:33, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- I suppose it would help if I actually gave you the code to look at too http://pastie.org/private/gilnljc0lpou0g5osu2awq --Yamakiri 17:58, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Take a look at line 56 you have a syntax error there(
$this->manager = new manager( $config['net'] , $config['nick'] , $config['port'] , $config['chan'] , $config$
). --Chris 09:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)- That happened when I copypasted it from nano in the terminal, since nano trucinates lines with a $, and you've got to scroll over to see the rest. In the main file it's complete, ending in $config['id'] );. Sorry about that. --Yamakiri 18:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Death.jpg
Please whitelist File:Death.jpg and File:Death (DC Comics).jpg from your bot. These files need to be merged, the image and the text should both be at File:Death (DC Comics).jpg and File:Death.jpg deleted so Commons:File:Death.jpg shows through properly. I reported this to one of the noticeboards awhile back but nothing happened. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 03:20, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

:File:Moo2BuildMenu400.png
I'm a little annoyed that I received no notification that File:Moo2BuildMenu400.png was up for deletion. Did you check its "What links here?" Please see Master of Orion II#User_interface --Philcha (talk) 13:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's a link, the image actually has to be embedded into the page. I can undelete it if you like however I think you'll find this problem will reoccur until the image is embedded on a page (also I think you'll find that you might be over using fair use images.). --Chris 14:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned talk page bot recently put several "File talk" pages in the speedy deletion queue, and they were deleted; I noticed you restored one of them. Can you tell me when orphaned file talk pages should or shouldn't be deleted? I haven't done much with file and file talk deletions. (Watchlisting) - Dank (push to talk) 04:36, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- That page needs to be kept because it contains copyright information relating to the image. When an image is moved to commons its still necessary to keep the talkpage when it contains important copyright info. --Chris 04:43, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. That's your bot; do you have a way to train User:Orphaned talkpage deletion bot not to tag those pages? - Dank (push to talk) 05:00, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's what I'm working on :) The problem was the image was uploaded to commons under a different name. --Chris 05:02, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. That's your bot; do you have a way to train User:Orphaned talkpage deletion bot not to tag those pages? - Dank (push to talk) 05:00, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Why did you indefinitely block Malathion (talk · contribs) with the summary "Abusing multiple accounts - prevent account creation" ? --Ryan Delaney talk 10:25, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned talkpage deletion bot
Hey Chris. I've gone ahead and approved the Orphaned talkpage deletion bot, but I still encourage a bit of caution at first. It's hard to fully test an adminbot, and inadverant deletions can cause a lot of trouble. Could you only delete a hundred pages or so per day for a while, as a sort of pseudo-test, so we can make sure there are no problems? Thanks, – Quadell (talk) 18:30, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
