Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first pages you edited was Draft:RST, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you've had a new article rejected or deleted, new article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:54, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not "Wiki". From your user name and editing, it appears clear that you are being paid or compensated to edit Wikipedia, which would include being asked or expected to do so as a duty of employment or internship. If that is the case, the "conflict of interest" disclosure is not sufficient. You must specifically use {{paid}}, which both discloses that you are being paid to edit and discloses who is paying. If unblocked, will you correct this? Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:37, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

{{paid}} disclosure moved to userpage by Drm310 Thank you for the advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris Impey (talkcontribs)

I moved your paid disclosure to your userpage (User:Chris Impey), which is its proper place.
A reminder that for every article you edit on behalf of your employer/client, you must identify it... either by listing it on your userpage, or on each article's talk page using the {{connected contributor (paid)}} template. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:52, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And, in addition, there shouldn't be any articles you edit for which you are being paid. Paid editors are required to abide by the conflict of interest guidelines, so if you believe an edit is needed to an article you're paid for, suggest the edit on the talk page, and add {{request edit}} to ask for an editor without a COI to review the edit and make it if appropriate. Your draft article, Draft:RST (brand)

[edit]

Hello, Chris Impey. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "RST".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. plicit 23:26, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
