Hi there CLARK, AL from Portugal "here",

regarding my reversion in William Carvalho, please i know what I'm doing. The input by the anon user consisted of a storyline in broken English and without refs, and a duplication of the infobox.

I'll try to arrange a (proper!) storyline later today, but right now we're better off like that don't you think, that adds nothing if you look at it closely. But i admit my summary was not all that jazz (i.e. i wrote "This IN nothing", when i meant "This IS nothing"; also a bit hysterical i'll admit it).

Attentively --AL (talk) 17:19, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Okay that's fine. But it would have helped if the edit summary was a little bit more informative. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 17:23, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

I agree with you 100% --AL (talk) 17:27, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Done, hopefully you (and WP of course!) will like it. Cheers --AL (talk) 20:18, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Well done sorry about earlier. Clarkcj12 (talk) 21:42, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey no worries! I repeat, my summary was anything but encyclopedical (albeit not insulting), you were obviously misled. --AL (talk) 01:56, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

re: RFA

Hi - thanks for the message. I don't think you're ready for RFA yet, for several reasons, but I'll be happy to help you go in the right direction.

I like your OTRS participation, work at AFC, AFD, and CSD/PROD, and your long-term involvement in the project. The main problem RFA followers will have if you went there today is your editing pattern. They like to see a consistent presence for several months to a year, and there's a big hole in your edits in the summer of this year. That's easy to fix with steady editing; you don't have to edit every day but you do have to show up consistently.

The other worry is content creation. I'd like to see you take some articles to GA or even FA status. Don't look at my RFA for guidance there, because I went through in a different era. The trend now at RFA, which started not long after I passed, is adding admins who have lots of content behind them with well-rounded participation in other areas of the project. Start reading AN and ANI so you're aware of the issues and trends in the project; participate if you wish, but don't get drawn into arguments there. There are lots of people who would be admins now if if weren't for their antics at ANI.

I see you don't have reviewer or rollback rights. I'll grant those now if you request them as you seem to be a levelheaded editor who doesn't get into disputes. Read the procedures for requesting them to be sure you understand what's involved, then just leave a note on my talk page and I'll take care of changing your user rights. It's entirely up to you. If you abuse them, though...let's just say I've been known to drop the hammer hard on people who abuse tools. ;-)

Archiving your talk page would be a good idea. Few people like to scroll down a long talk page.

Now some uncomfortable stuff...I would reconsider putting so much personal information on your user page. I have not been attacked myself but I know several admins who have, in real life, and the less personally identifiable information the revenge seekers can use, the better. Take that for what it's worth; plenty of people use their real names, but I'm not one of them. Make sure you have a strong password. If you use IRC on the Wikipedia channels and don't have an Wikimedia IRC cloak, get one, as that's another way admins have been outed and harassed.

Things not to do:

  • do not get into an edit war
  • do not get into stupid arguments
  • do not be afraid to admit you made a mistake, and when you do,
  • do not hesitate to fix it, or
  • do not hesitate to ask for help.

Let's start there and revisit your activity in, say, February. If you have questions about anything you encounter, feel free to ask on my talk page or email me. Again, if you want reviewer or rollback rights, make the request on my talk page and I'll handle it. Have a good week and a great Thanksgiving! :-) KrakatoaKatie 18:46, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

  • You now have rollback and reviewing rights on the English language Wikipedia; read the links above before using them (reviewing will be the unfamiliar one to you). I see you have archiving set up but you've got messages on this page from as far back as January 2012. Not sure what's happening here, but the bot seems to be archiving some and missing others. I had to mess with my archiving settings quite a bit before it did what I wanted it to do, and it will still screw up if someone adds a message above the TOC or otherwise misplaces it. One more thing - start participating at RFA, too. You'll see why it's helpful. :-) KrakatoaKatie 21:48, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much! Sorry about that! Great, thanks for the link! --Pongo32 (talk) 16:46, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Question

Hi Clarkcj12 i'm Artist2013 and I would like to know how can I upload an image for the Puerto Rican Singer-Songwriter Bamil Gutierrez Collado. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Artist2013 (talkcontribs) 18:42, 24 November 2013 (UTC-5

In reply to your comment it depends. If it is under a free license like CC-BY-SA, it can be uploaded to Commons. Now if it is not under a free license then you have to follow the instructions here Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard. Which will guide you through the process. Also I didn't notice your message today, as such you created a subpage. And did not notice it, so pleaes post messages on this page so that way I get a notification about the message, or reply. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 18:57, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

hi Clark I am Cornel, regarding the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying page, I had put the content found on this site http://www.world-results.net/uefa/ranking_2013.html

Yaseen Anwer page is preposterous

Even I am a better poet than he is. He doesn't deserve a Wikipedia page saying he was among the best English language poets India has ever seen. Why don't you check out my poetry presence at Hello Poetry? Log on to http://hellopoetry.com/-atul-drona-kaushal-1/ where my poems have been read and re-read around 120,000 times and reacted to around 5,000 times. If his Wikipedian presence is justified, where's my page? My poem "Angel?" at the link http://hellopoetry.com/poem/angel-44/ has been read and reacted to by poets from around the world over 2523 times and 133 times respectively. I have written as far as 495 poems and miscellaneous articles on my Hello Poetry presence. Aks23121990 (talk) 05:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Hi brother. The edits which I made is not non- constructive. Its re- constructive. There were no details about the show so far. And also, please try to understand that, the show has not only attracted the hindi knowing people, but also the tamilians. So, I made it comfortable for both of them. An article should be in the way, of covering everything about the subject. There is nothing wrong in my edits, except some spelling mistakes, which I will correct it sooner. Other than that, the things which I have updated is sure a useful one. If you want to edit something in an article, either correct it or add some details. Don't ever undo the changes made by others. Hope you understood. Take care — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ragavendaragul (talkcontribs) 05:05, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for reverting back brother. For your knowledge, I am a great fan of the show. I will always have an eye on this page and the changes done. So don't worry. And regarding the reference, I don't know what to include. Those things which I have updated, were from my knowledge. I am watching the show daily. With that, I updated. I don't know hindi. So I updated the details about the tamil version. I can include the reference section only if I had referred something. Hope you understood bro. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ragavendaragul (talkcontribs) 12:49, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

ACC

Clarkcj12, thank you for interest in the account creation process. I have verified your Identification [1] and I have approved your request, welcome to the team. You may now access the interface here. Before you do so, please read the account creation guide and our username policy thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the process. You should also join us on IRC #wikipedia-en-accounts connect where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and to get any advice on requests as well as the mailing list. Please note that we have implemented a policy of zero tolerance on mishandled requests, and that failure to assess correctly will result in suspension. I would like to emphasize that it is not a race to complete a request, and each one should be handled diligently and thoroughly. Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day, although you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked "Account Creator Needed" by the bot and "Flagged user needed" on the interface. However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM/ACC. Please keep in mind that the ACC tool is a powerful program, and misuse will result in your access being suspended by a tool administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome! Mlpearc (open channel) 00:31, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

IP address used to make an edit is shared by university residence

Hello, I was recently notified that an edit was undone to the page Levee. However, I did not do this edit and, in fact, the IP address associated with this edit is a common address shared by my university residence building. Hopefully things like this don't have to happen again; and, if I may ask, is there anything I can do to avoid such problems, seeing as I am one of eight-hundred students that this sort of problem could affect? Is there anything I can do to protect myself?

Prancercise updates

Hi Clark,

You just undid my revision to the Prancercise page. I'm trying to make it neutral and informative, yet the information keeps getting reverted back to unverifiable claims such as "Much of the attention has been negative, mocking the regimen." I personally argue that most of the attention has actually been positive - but Wikipedia is not a place to argue that ... The fact is that Prancercise has received a massive amount of attention - whether most of it has been positive or negative is a matter of opinion.

Can you please clarify how maintaining the page with a negative slant is constructive?

And as for the Richard Simmons quote ... the article I provided as a source is 10 pages long and certainly has Richard Simmons quoted as saying what is written in the Wikipedia article. Yet the reference was deleted and marked as citation needed. I think there's a needless attack on this page occurring, so please let me know what your thoughts are.

Plural of 'bus' correction...

Regarding the 'Bristol Bus Boycott' edit, both 'busses' and 'buses' are accepted plurals; in fact, if anything, 'busses' is slightly more correct, as 'buses' is just a (somewhat lazy) modern stylisation

I'm afraid you're simply wrong there: 'busses' is absolutely correct (and I personally much prefer it to 'buses', as it gives less phonetical ambiguity). Proof: imgur.com/4wz7djh

Jørgen Zoëga is called Georg Zoëga!

Hello I see you just removed the corrections I made of Zoëga's first name in his biography on Wikipedia. Well, if you do not want any help correcting obvious mistakes, feel free.

Take a look here: http://www.academia.edu/4116024/The_forgotten_scholar._Georg_Zoega_1755-1809_._International_Conference_Bologna-Rome_27-30_October_2013_

or here (in Danish) http://arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk/people/georg-zoega

Jørgen is the Danish version of Georg(e), but (allmost) all literature on him is only referring to him as Georg, which he did himself all through his life in Rome, where Georg was easier understood. Using Jørgen just shows that you do not know anything about Zoëga, so it is a misunderstood attempt at being correct.

RE: RevDel

Hi, I took a look at the edit and, in my personal opinion, I think that it falls under the scope of "ordinary" incivility. While such comments are unfortunate, revisions that fall under R2 involve attacks that are more personal in nature and/or are grossly offensive. Thus, I don't think it falls under the scope of revision deletion. However if you want to get a second opinion, that's perfectly fine. Best, Mike VTalk 03:43, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

Manual updating of your Backlog Elimination Drive page is no longer necessary. The AFCBuddy bot is now automatically updating AfC reviews that are performed when using the Helper script. Importantly, please note that any re-reviews you may have performed will need to be manually copied and pasted to the bot-generated pages. Thank you for participating in the drive. Northamerica1000(talk) 19:39, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

User:Marchjuly was reviewed by Clarkcj12

Hi. I am relatively new to Wikipedia and received a notification earlier this morning that I had been reviewed by you. Could you explain what this means and where I might find more information on what "being reviewed" entails. Also, somebody "gave me some love", but I do not know who it was. Was that you? Regardless, could you tell me how to add a "Heart" tab to the top of my page next to the "Watchlist Star"? Thanks -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:25, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. So a review is pretty standard and not necessarily a bad thing, right? Is there a way to know what was reviewed and what the result of the review was? Also, regarding the hearts, how do you create a "hearts tab" (hearts subpage) between the 'Veiw History' and 'Watchlist Star' like you have on your page. Somebody "loved me" (gave me a heart), but I don't know who or why. It just showed up on the far right margin. It would be nice if there was some way to keep them all in the same spot and where people could leave a message as to why they gave me a heart. Thanks -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:36, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks again. Think I understand the review process a little better now. Just a few more questions and then I'll be good to go. How do you know which page was reviewed? How do you know if you passed the review? The "green check mark"? Now, about hearts, when I click on the heart tab at the top of your page, it says, "post a message for this user to show your appreciation." How can I set up a "heart tab" on my page like that? Thanks -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:25, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Got it. Thanks again for taking the time to clear all that up for me. Live long and prosper! -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:34, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

Please pardon me but what have you done exactly? I was moving (as per the comment to support the edit) the section to where it seemed more logical in the article. However I am unsure of where you have reverted back to and I am afraid I have now lost the thread.

I am sorry, but looking back in the page history of the talk page. I can't find anything about that. I would recommend if you believe it belongs in a different part of the article. I would suggest you open an WP:RfC which will help gather a consensus among the editors. Yes, its okay to move some things around, but when its something that much, it is generally better to ask the community before doing that, as other editors may think it is vandalism. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 01:18, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi again,

As per your suggestion I've added some comments to see if anyone is interested in joining a discussion. Please see the talk page of the Corsair article.

Cheers.

Hi Clarkcj12, you contacted me about my removing some content from 'Will & Grace (Season 7)'. It's true I removed the original cast list because it's on there twice now, once directly above the episode list, and once directly beneath the episode list. I restructured the cast section for all 8 seasons, because they were largely incorrect (listing people as recurring within a season when they only appeared once, or listing guest stars in wrong seasons, amonst others). I've also placed the cast section under the episode listing in all 8 seasons because I thought it worked better, layout-wise.

I removed the original cast section again, so the page has only one (correct) overview of the cast instead of two. Thanks!

OTRS permission tags

Hi. :) I noticed you placed an OTRS permission tag at Talk:Shane Lavalette, but unfortunately the tag you placed is used for images, not text. The image tag works because the source is obvious - it does not have a parameter to explain where text was copied from. It also doesn't specify license, since the license is given in another parameter. The template for text permissions is Template:ConfirmationOTRS. While Template:OTRS Permission did say it was for files, I noticed that it didn't exactly offer guidance on which template to use for articles. I've added that in.

I'll go ahead and correct the tag in this case, but wanted to let you know for future permission logging. Thanks! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:45, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
