Jimbo Wales, can you please give the account DagothBot bot status? That is my bot. Dagoth Ur, Mad God (talk) 07:17, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Breaking Me Down, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 17:45, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don' worry. It's been redirect'd to Scars (album). Dagoth Ur, Mad God (talk) 14:15, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typo redirect /.-.

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on /.-., by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because /.-. is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting /.-., please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Dear Dagoth Ur, Mad God,

I have removed your Request from adminship because it had little to no chance of passing, at a final tally of (0/4/0). Please look at the concerns of the opposition, keep up your hard work, and make sure you become well-versed in our policies, and consider re-trying a few months. Moved from Talk: Main Page

[edit]

How do I make the tab marked "Article" say "Main Page"? They did it on UESPWiki and Festipedia. Dagoth Ur, Mad God (talk) 13:36, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would this help? Wikipedia:FAQ/Main Page#How do you remove the title of the Main Page? --199.71.174.100 (talk) 18:54, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually, UESPWiki usues the page's name and Festipedia (the one I saw) just says article like it does here.
To change "article" to "insert text here," add this line to User:Dagoth Ur, Mad God/monobook.js
addOnloadHook(function(){ document.getElementById("ca-main").firstChild.innerHTML = "insert text here";});
§hep¡Talk to me! 19:07, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, for the future, this belongs at Wikipedia:Help desk, not here. §hep¡Talk to me! 20:42, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But Nstab-main still says Article. That code is a dummy. Dagoth Ur, Mad God (talk) 02:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's some good code:

  *                      the Main Page.
  *  Maintainers:        User:AzaToth, User:R. Koot (on Wikipedia)
  */

 function mainPageRenameNamespaceTab() {
     try {
         var Node = document.getElementById( 'ca-nstab-main' ).firstChild;
         if ( Node.textContent ) {      // Per DOM Level 3
             Node.textContent = 'Main Page';
         } else if ( Node.innerText ) { // IE doesn't handle .textContent
             Node.innerText = 'Main Page';
         } else {                       // Fallback
             Node.replaceChild( Node.firstChild, document.createTextNode( 'Main Page' ) );
         }
     } catch(e) {
         // bailing out!

Proposed deletion of FestWiki

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article FestWiki, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Peripitus (Talk) 11:49, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of FestWiki

[edit]

I have nominated FestWiki, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FestWiki. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Your committed identity. ("VIOLET" is not an output from the SHA-1 hash algorithm.)

[edit]

Dear Dagoth Ur, Mad God: I was looking at your user page and I noticed that "VIOLET" was supposed to be a SHA-1 commitment to your real life identity. The only catch is that "VIOLET" isn't a hexadecimal number such as one would normally expect to see as the output from a hash function. To have a committed identity, one should use that box and put the output from a hash function in the box. The input string to the hash function should be kept secret. Is it possible that VIOLET is the string you meant to hash? If so, I'd suggest you pick a longer string, perhaps even one that confirms more about your real identity, to make the committed identity stronger. Just remember, put the output of the hash in the box, not the string itself. The string must be kept secret by you. Knowing what string hashes to the value you put in the identity commitment box is the proof you are the account's rightful owner. Please see Template:User_committed_identity for more information. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 00:03, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

[edit]

When Anonymous Dissident said to try again, I think he meant to wait longer than six weeks or so. Ignoring the concerns about some of the pages you've created, even if everyone one of your mainspace edits was a good one, an RfA would not pass without a few months of serious editing. Recommend you accumulate at least 2,000 edits before trying again. Please let me know before the next time you intend to run, and then I can give you my assessment of where you stand. I don't want you to suffer the indignity of the harsh opposes an inexperienced user will often get at RfA. Let me know if you have any further questions. Enigma message 07:33, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Same here. Or you can take it to WT:RfA where the editors there will be more than happy to let you know where you stand. Happy editing from — MaggotSyn 10:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:SUNNO)))LOGO.JPG

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:SUNNO)))LOGO.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:SUNNO)))LOGO.JPG|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CWii(Talk|Contribs) 02:17, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
