Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito

Hi, I want to know why you erased the edition that I made. I took the statistics from the RSSSF, and it's explained why I changed the statistics. Carlos Tenorio was part of the ecuadorian squad that played in the FIFA world cup 2002. If you have any doubt that he was part of LDU in 2002 please check this links: http://www.ecuafutbol.org/servicios/FichaJugadores.aspx?valor1=0502580889 http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/statisticsandrecords/players/player=187434/index.html --Paulce1527 (talk) 02:21, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Deletion review for 2011–12 Hannover 96 Season

As a Season article task force member, you might be interested in the Deletion review for 2011–12 Hannover 96 Season redirect. The history of the debate is that the article was a duplicate article of 2011–12 Hannover 96 season. The difference being is that the s was capitalized in the duplicate article. So, I put the article up for deletion. Here is the afd page for your reference. It would be good for you to, irregardless of which side you may be on, to comment and to cast endose or overturn vote. National football teams

Why did you undo my contributions? Banhtrung1 10:59, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

The article Argenis Moreira has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Have you got a reference for the Ecuadorian Serie A being fully professional? Cloudz679 14:47, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Argentine Primera División, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Club Atlético Unión (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Argentine leagues and teams

Hi, I've seen your sudden interest in editing Argentine leagues and teams articles. But I also noted that your edits are being more disruptive than positive, in my opinion. First of all you came to Argentine Primera División where we had a little "dispute" about the date of beginning of the tournament. I prefer not to go further on it and let it pass although I cited sources to prove my reasons. But then you went on reverting some of the changes I have made in clubs' names. Don't forget Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia rather than a football forum, so the official names of the clubs should be respected as they are. If you think different to me, I suggest you should support your arguments on their respective talk page instead of reverting all the changes I do, what has turned a bit annoying for me. I hope you try to be more collaborative. Concluding, if you have some point to clear or any other doubt, suggestion or comment, please let me know on my talk page. Thanks. Fma12 (talk) 19:26, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

I don't usually make disruptive edits, although I can accept my mistakes... it's all clearer for me since I read Arsenal talk page and the manual of style about renaming. But on the other hand, you don't seem to be the most appropiated person to tell me what is "wrong", so I remember when you deleted sources in Argentine Primera División article (sources that were completely reliable, but you ignored it and arbitrarily erased them anyway with no further reasons). Fma12 (talk) 23:25, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
Evidently you only know the second part of the history of Argentine football leagues. The Primera División has existed since 1891. I don't affirm it based on any invention: this is a matter of fact. There are books that told the history of Argentine football since 1867 (when the first game was held in my country), which are cited in the article. You can check them by yourself. The issue was that during many decades, most of Argentine journalists explicitly ignored the amateur era (1891-1930) because of the belief that only professional years were valid. It was until the 1990s when a group of football researchers (CHIF) told the "complete history" after years of exhaustive and serious investigations.
1931 was the first year when players earned a salary for its professional services, but the Primera División as a tournament had been established 40 years before. Plain and simple, as you said. 40 years of amateur football cannot be ommitted. Therefore the addition of amateur era was mandatory to tell the complete history of the league. - Fma12 (talk) 03:25, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
I'm convinced you are wrong, but I think it has no sense to go further with this discussion because we won't reach a consensus over this topic. Nevertheless, if you have some time, please take a look at the Primera División article on Spanish WP. About the Amateur era in Argentine football article, I know its contents because I made lot of edits there. I also think that article would be useful if it was merged into the Primera División one so much of its contents (tables, statistics, etc, from 1891-1930) are redundant. But it's just my point of view... - Fma12 (talk) 14:19, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

LDU Squad

Only U-18 players can use numbers above 50, this year the Ecuadorian U-20 team didn't qualify to the U-20 world cup. For that reason the teams had to change the U-20 player that they used until last year for an U-18 player in their line up. For example, Walter Chávez in the match against El Nacional on February 10, 2013 wore the number 24. Orphaned non-free media (File:CopaCredifeLogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:CopaCredifeLogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Hi Digirami, Rather than just edit warring with this IP, why don't you take your point to WT:FOOTY and gain consensus. If people agree with you then you can look to get the page protected. It doesn't seem that this constant reverting is doing anything to solve the issue. Thanks. Fenix down (talk) 07:26, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. GiantSnowman 12:34, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:32, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:River Plate Ecuador logo.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:River Plate Ecuador logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
