March 2019[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Leslie Marr has been reverted.
Your edit here to Leslie Marr was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJm5lDUXwmDwCWn13o7YLXg, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJm5lDUXwmDwCWn13o7YLXg) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 17:20, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Leslie Marr have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.

Hello, unfortunately your edits to Marr's article have had to be removed again. There are a number of links above which explain how Wikipedia works. Please study these carefully as it will ultimately be helpful to you and you are more likely to avoid editing problems.

One important point is that Wikipedia is not a form of social media like Facebook etc., where persons can create a profile and have control over content. Wikipedia has articles about subjects, based on what has been written about them in reliable independent secondary sources. (See WP:RS for more information. Subjects also have to pass notability guidelines (see that page and WP:GNG). In this case, Marr achieves notability due to his racing career but passing specific guidelines is not immediately clear. This does not mean that it cannot be mentioned in the article, but it should not be the main 'thrust' of the page or to the exclusion of what has has led him to be a Wiki subject in the first place. Additions will need to be sourced as noted above. (See WP:REFB for how to add references).

Another issue is that of 'conflict of interest'. Please read WP:COI and make any necessary disclosures and if appropriate WP:PAID also. This is not a reflection upon you but merely one of the ways in which Wikipedia attempts to ensure neutrality.

Although included in the welcome message at the top of the page I include below, a number of the more useful links for newer editors:
