A tag has been placed on Modern Films, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Modern Films Entertainment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Managing a conflict of interest

Modern films moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Modern films, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Request reason:

I did not intentionally mean to be "advertising only since 2010." Any entry that I have added to Wikipedia was informational and added more detail to already existing pages. Also, I tried to make a page for my company, as I see most/all companies have official pages. I am not sure how best to start one without putting up the key information first then supporting it with external links, pages and articles. I have not intentionally been trying to advertise and I am sorry if this is how it appears. Especially one of my entries was about being a daughter to my mother, who has a Wikipedia page. And I also added a reference to some of the work I've done with a supporting article from a reputable trade magazine and newspaper (Screen International and The Guardian, for example). I would like to have my permissions reinstated to be part of the Wikipedia community. Egabereau (talk) 16:28, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have several misunderstandings about Wikipedia. Companies do NOT have "official pages" here, not a single one. Wikipedia has articles, not pages. Those articles are typically written by independent editors, not company representatives, and the company has no special rights to any article about it that might exist. They actually have less rights, due to WP:COI and WP:PAID. An article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company. Wikipedia has no interest in what a company wants to say about itself. You won't be unblocked to do further promotional editing; if you want to edit about topics for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 19:13, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Many thanks for this further detailed explanation. I don't want to go on to repeat my past mistakes, I was just trying to explain what led to me being blocked, without actually understanding. I won't write anything about myself or my company, I just want to be unblocked as I feel strange having a strike against me for not having done anything malicious or intentional. I feel this is a strange slight and goes against the grain of Wikipedia's space for information. I am just an active citizen.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 12:25, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
