My recent RfA
[edit]Thanks for your support and defense in my recent, unsuccessful RfA. It's much appreciated. Is that cow in its natural, upright position? Haha. IvoShandor 16:28, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- LOL, yes it appears to be a potential victim. I was very disappointed your RfA didn't pass, you have obviously done a lot for the encyclopedia. I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to go through it again, but I really do think you deserve the admin tools. Take care, daveh4h 16:34, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Award for you
[edit]Furry Beast of Death | ||
First I see that you've reverted some vandalism on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and then I click over to your user page and see that you have funny pictures of two of the animals which I find hilarious. I instantly knew that I had to present so worthy an editor with my third favorite animal...and in this case it's all the funnier, because it looks quite obese. Anyway, I present you with this Splendid Sumo-Sized Squirrel of Silliness. Enjoy! |
SU Linguist 16:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- It will of course be displayed on my user page with great pride. I've always dream of a day someone would award me an obese barn-squirrel, imagine my surprise when I found out that today is the day. Thank you very much. :-D daveh4h 18:08, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- haha you're whacky. Wikidan829 19:48, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Feel free to award me the barnstar of wackiness. daveh4h 19:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am honored that my squirrel has been utilized in the form of an award. NickoMargolies 02:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I saw your tag removal on the article's page. I too felt the same but couldn't do so due to disagreement with another user. Thank You for the same. --AltruismTo talk 12:17, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- There are a lot of cases where the {{NPOV}} tag is very useful, but for that article I just didn't see what the big deal was. I didn't see that the tag placement was articulated very well, so I felt the removal was justified.
- There's really no need to thank me, as I just did what I felt was right, but I appreciate your thanks. :-) Happy editing, daveh4h 16:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Re: Your question on my RfB
[edit]I answered your question on my RfB, and ended up rambling on about ignoring rules and the spirit of policy, but you said an open answer was good so I left it there. :-) --ɐuɐʞsəp (ʞɿɐʇ) 05:28, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I wanted to leave it open because I felt like I wanted to hear your response to it now, but really couldn't formulate the proper question. For what it's worth, I thought you answered well and generally I agree with your philosophy.
- I noted this on the RfB, but I really did go through your contribs heavy since you seem to be a serious candidate for RfB. From all I can see you are more than qualified. I'm hoping that you earn 'cratship. :-) Good luck to you, daveh4h 17:04, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Can you help
[edit]Sorry to bother, is there a quick way to view users contribs when I am on their discussion page? I can't seem to find the link. Floodamanny 15:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- There is a link that says User contributions to the left under the search box and "toolbox". That will bring up all the contributions that member has made. Hope this helps? And it's no bother, I'm happy to help. daveh4h 15:20, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Tool at FAC
[edit]Hey Dave! I will be submitting Tool to FAC tonight or tomorrow. It would be insane/awesome/a waste of time/disturbingly unpleasant/appreciated if you could help me out getting this article to FA status. Since I will be moving from Barcelona back to Berlin on Wednesday, I will most probably be very grateful for any spare minute you could spend on addressing any of the objections that the article will encounter. As soon as the article is listed, I'll post a talk topic at the Tool talk page. Thanks in advance, of course I will return the favor whenever you're in need. Johnnyw talk 19:24, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sure Johnny, I'd be happy to help. If there are any issues right now that you want me to take care of, I should have a few hours later tonight to devote to it. Other than that, I'll go through and tighten the prose where I can and that sort of thing.
- I noticed the peer review this morning. About the articles used from toolshed, how do we go about finding ISSN numbers for them? The reviewer raised a good point, but A)I wonder if it is a copyright vio, since the entire magazine isn't being reproduced just an article and B) It's a lot easier to point a reader to a URL where the article is than asking them to find it offline.
- But, whatever I guess, I'll do what i can to get it to FAC with ya! Thanks again for your hard work on it. daveh4h 20:18, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Hey, I'd like to give the FAC another shot, as I mentioned at the Tool talk page. Thanks again for your help last time, am looking forward to see you at the fac! Johnnyw talk 16:36, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, up until now, everything went smoothly. But take a look at the the tool faca now. Someone actually strongly opposes the FAC. And although I see some of his points, some I find rather questionable. Well, I am gonna take a deep breath and see what I can do about it. Thanks for your message anyways, and don't worry too much, I have been kinda busy lately as well. :) Johnnyw talk 11:37, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

newport
[edit]Why did you remove the photo from the newport cigarette article. Why is it copyrighted or something? --MKnight9989 12:17, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't actually, it looks like User:Quadell did. See the edit summary here. He removed it because it was a deleted image. Have a great day, daveh4h 15:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- My bad. Thanks for your time. --MKnight9989 12:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject Tool News
[edit]Maynard James Keenan has been nominated for GA and is currently on hold. It should be listed within the next couple of days. It has also been listed for peer review, and is planned for an FA nomination after a couple of reviews are completed. All help once the drive for FA begins is certainly appreciated!

New Wikipunk genre?
[edit]I can see it all now :D Wonder who will be first to the post with an album? Orderinchaos 17:03, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I am a wiki boy
I edit, I edit, I edit, I edit
My edits are like water down a drain
- Sounds sufficently anti-establishment and angst-ridden to me! :-)
- In addition to "Disturbed by the Administrator", I think some other good wikipunk band names would be "Suck My BLP", "POV Pushing Punks From Perth", and "The Checklosers".
- My band, Bitted By A Bureaucrat, will start recording an album as soon as we get studio time :D Thanks for the note --daveh4h 21:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
rollback
[edit]You could use rollback, so I gave it to you. This is the full spiel. Cheers, NoSeptember 06:37, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Yeah, that guy was crazy. Thanks for reporting him to AIV. In times like that, I really hate the limit on rollbacks.... Anyway, keep up the good work. Thingg⊕⊗ 17:12, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I went to report him and saw someone else already did, so I just started reverting! Thanks for the message, daveh4h 17:14, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Mackan79 block
[edit]I have just posted on ANI. I was in the process of typing it out as soon as I issued the block, but it necessarily required a fair amount of typing. Comments should probably go there. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 05:52, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
FYI
[edit]"Cockpuppet (internet)
A cock puppet is an additional account created by an existing member of an Internet community. The cockpuppet is similar to a sockpuppet in terms of creation, intent and usage, but differs in that the sockpuppet's creator (the cocketeer) tends to have very poor interpersonal skills and/or a nasty temper. As such, no matter how many accounts are created, it is certain that each one will end up acting and looking like a dick." from the deleted article Cockpuppet. ViridaeTalk 06:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

WP:Wikiproject Tool update
[edit]A few updates in events:
- Maynard James Keenan has been listed for copy-edit at the WP:LoCE, however, the backlog is quite long. Therefore, if anyone has copy-editing skills, please go over the article. I would do it myself, but I've done quite a bit of work on the article and I am incapable of copy-editing my own work.
- Maynard James Keenan discography has been worked back into the bio and has been determined to be redundant of the main discographies. It will most likely be deleted this week.
- Devo Keenan has been created. I think this is a good opportunity for the project to get together and create a DYK entry. The article needs to be expanded and referenced. Hopefully this is possible. I've not yet looked to see how much information is available. Please take time to help with this, if you can. We have four days!!
Thanks to everyone who has helped thus far. The project is still very new, but good progress is being made! Lara❤Love 03:58, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:40, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
