June 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kirill Kondrashin, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. If your statement that his defection was "likely to be related to personal matters" is on the record, please cite the source you took that from. If it is your own interpretation of events, this is not appropriate for Wikipedia. Belbury (talk) 08:24, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Game scores

[edit]

When you add a chess game score to an article, please add spaces between the moves. As you can see, the game you added to Murray Chandler is illegible due to lack of spaces. (I have already fixed the game you added to Vasily Smyslov Sr.) Bruce leverett (talk) 02:18, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please be careful with the original research

[edit]

Alejandro Ramírez is playing OTB today in Columbia. Your unsourced edit introduced objectively incorrect information. Particularly in a BLP, and particularly in the BLP of an accused sex offender, please keep WP:NOR in mind with all your unsourced edits. Miner Editor (talk) 13:37, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Den Vau requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. @RoboCric Hi. I wonder if I can update it little by little? I actually created a page without content and deleted, then created another one and translated about his early life and some parts of info box. I am not sure if this message is about the deleted one or the new one. Emma knows it well (talk) 19:17, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Deletion notice was about the former one, which had been deleted by an admin. Thanks. RoboCric Let's chat 09:52, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Yelena Isinbayeva, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Renat 12:48, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Emma knows it well. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Seems nearly all your edits are including mentions of Michael Baron across Wikipedia articles. Wanted to confirm you don't have a conflict of interest regarding that person. Thanks. ZimZalaBim talk 15:59, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Zim
I do not know Michael Baron personally, just been reading his articles when in Vietnam so decided to translate his wiki from Vietnamese.
thank you so much for your guidance,
Emma Emma knows it well (talk) 16:06, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to be adding a lot of trivial content about Michael Baron and now starting to insert just random links to what appears to be his consulting company. Please be aware of our notability guidelines at WP:ACADEMIC and also about inserting promotional links at WP:SPAM and WP:EL. --ZimZalaBim talk 01:35, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi ZimZalaBim,
I have been reading about disclose conflict of interest but cannot understand well the next steps to do. Also, is it important to make the translation match with the original Vietnamese version? Because after the community update my translation, I think it is less similar to the original Vietnamese post. Emma knows it well (talk) 04:02, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not the article is similar to its Vietnamese version is irrelevant, as we need to follow the guidelines here at the English Wikipedia. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:27, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you. Noted. I better not edit it further before understanding the guidelines better and stick to the original translation from the vietnamese wiki.
thank you heaps for guidance. Emma knows it well (talk) 01:40, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
