[edit]Hi, thank you for your article on Jibba.
I've added a nomination for it to appear in the "Did you know ..." section of Wikipedia's front page. The blurbs follow the pattern of "Did you know that ... [interesting fact about jibba]?". If you have any good ideas for an interesting blurb, you can comment at Template:Did you know nominations/Jibba.

DYK for Jibba
[edit]On 29 January 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jibba, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the jibba (pictured), a Sudanese coat, symbolised a dedication to a religious way of life and denoted the military rank of the wearer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jibba. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jibba), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- Hi Drmies, Thank you for your suggestions here! I don't have a lot of Wikipedia editing experience, so your feedback is very helpful. I was wondering if you could explain why the Artnet / BFI sources are unsuitable. I understand them to be secondary sources as they relate to information originally presented elsewhere. Finally, could you draw my attention to the source which appears copyrighted, the link you have included doesn't seem to match up to any of those I included. Thanks again! ErThomas1 (talk) 15:19, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

- This is not a secondary source: BFI, the British Film Institute, is not a book or magazine or whatever. It is an organizational platform which hosts or hosted videos. Artnet is a record of art sales, and it hosts resumes, such as the page you linked. No, they are not secondary sources; please see Secondary source. The Kashya Hildebrand page you linked (and which I should have removed the first time--I will do so now) seems to copy the text of an article originally published in Metropolis. You can cite that article, if you like, but you can't link to a page that simply copies the text, and if you cite it, you need to cite the original publication. It is entirely possible that the person is notable by our standards, but writing a biographical article is going to take a bit more effort than copying a resume, which I think is what happened here. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:34, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
