Marking edits as minor; please use edit summaries[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Also, Information icon Hi Evanwilliams1121! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. October 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Humana—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Single-payer healthcare. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 12:20, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Humana, you may be blocked from editing. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:13, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Health system. —Bruce1eetalk 13:32, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. This isn't a warning like the above, but it would really help other editors if you would describe why you are making the changes you're making. Many changes appear to be unnecessary rewrites. Information icon Please refrain from making edits generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or another application using such a technology) in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Health care reform, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. Thank you. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 12:23, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
