Houlihan Lokey article creation proposed

[edit]

I wanted to propose the article, how do I get someone to consider the content for editing? There are already 2 links of Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin (under list of investment banks and in Perella Weinberg Partners). Please advise.

Can you edit it down to be a stub? The language is very similiar to other linked companies on the Wikipedia article "List of Investment Banks."

I rewrote the article with the verifiable sources listed and in a way to avoid copyright infringement, but the page was deleted over the weekend by another editor before I had a chance to post the sourced version. What is the best way for me to repost the revised version?

Asserting notability

[edit]

I'm not sure there's a detailed description of what it means to assert notability, beyond what's stated at WP:CSD. Generally, "asserting" to me means claiming that one of the categories in WP:MUSIC is met (even if there's no source as yet). In the case of Dreamer's exile, there were some red flags that usually indicate a positive assertion of non-notability -- the band is described as "up and coming", they're still working on their first album, and "Dreamer's Exile is a young band, but has a lot of potential and is waiting for an opportunity to arise." Anything like that is usually enough for me to speedy-delete. NawlinWiki 17:39, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

is not an empty article, it is a redirect mistakenly created as an article. The best thing to do when you see such articles is to check that they lead to a real article, and then change them to a redirect, unless such a reference is altogether inappropriate..DGG 02:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Company Listing Misunderstanding

[edit]

Dear Evil1987, Sorry I have to leave a message on your page rather than contacting you directly, but you have not specified an email address so I can't figure out how to contact you.

You deleted the listing that was recently created for Boston Analytics, claiming that the creator of the listing deleted the tag for speedy deletion. This is not true, as I deleted the tag, and the tag clearly stated that anyone other than the creator of the listing is welcome to delete it. If you viewed the talk page for the listing you would see that I made a note of this.

I have compiled a list of credible sources providing further information about the company; please contact me and I will send it to you asap so that we can get the listing put back up. Thanks. Lilprincessmo 14:48, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Evil,

Thanks for your message for Sri Sri Ravishankar article. The article ( before I removed the junk ) had false critiscism on a Great Philanthropist and Peace lover. Your advice to write a better is always welcome. Thank you Jaimalleshk — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaimalleshk (talkcontribs)

Education City (Queensland)

[edit]

Kill it. I moved it from another article, Education City, someone had inteserted it into. I really didn't think it was notable. Cornell Rockey 02:14, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on this article. Do you think we can remove that tag now?--Southern Texas 16:58, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Evil, I started the business travel page after a recent trip overseas. I used travgroup.com, the co. you deleted through a recommendation. I'm new to wiki, what are the standards of mentioning other companies or providers? Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Fuzzcup (talkcontribs) 2007-07-27T17:18:35

Thanks, I just archived my talk page (it was getting too cluttered). I realized your error after replicating it. Cheers! Precious Roy 21:04, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. At first sight, it looks like a premature closure to me, I suggest you talk to TenPoundHammer. I expect I would go for either deletion as dicdef/neologism or merger with anorexia nervosa, but I haven't looked at the refs, so don't hold me to that. Mr Stephen 23:56, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wannarexia

[edit]

No problem, sometimes I still do that, think that I scrolled down but didn't, no big deal. IvoShandor 23:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was probably too fast for me to close Wannarexia so fast, and sorry for assuming bad faith. Ten Pound Hammer(Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsReview?) 00:53, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that your edits mean that I am not a loner in this article - but how useless is it to place templates like "orphan" and "uncategorized", if the article is barely a few hours old!! Please wait for the article to be finished or better still, look at the history and see that it has only recently been made,(it will take less than a day to finish).

I know that u were unable to determine if it was finished but the age of the article along with its actual incomplete structure shows that it is not finished.

I thank you for your reply which has cleared all up for me. Well thanks for the good luck and you keep up the good work too!!

List of Roman Catholic dioceses in Honduras

Please check next time the date the article was last edited, before nominating an article for speedy deletion.  :) I had yet to drop down my template on the page to get it up to par. This is what the list looks like now.

Benkenobi18 01:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As the article stands right now it's a relatively long dictionary definition. It could possibly stand as a "religious" stub, if you want to tag it so, feel free to do so. As there's no references, it's a good candidate. SkierRMH 05:31, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We are in agreement on this article. I have suggested a redirect on its talk page but will wait to see if its defender cares to respond before going boldly. :) --Moonriddengirl 19:31, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put up this speedy delete tag but I noticed your comments on the article's talk page. I'll support any AfD on the article, but I do think this article fails notability and is a perfect candidate for speedy deletion. If you want to remove the template, I'll re-submit for AfD. But this article should simply not be included since it fails Wikipedia guidelines. JasonCNJ 21:21, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm flexible--I support any of the above. I don't think the article will ultimately stay; it has already been speedily deleted twice today, if I'm not mistaken. I'm not going to remove your CSD template (and as I mentioned on your talk page, I replaced just such a template deleted by the author earlier today, which led to the second speedy deletion). I just had second thoughts about leaving my own in place after hearing the author's (albeit brief and arguably flimsy) defense. That is, perhaps to state that a site is the official site of a prominent politician is to assert that it's remarkable. I don't know. --Evil1987 21:29, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have strong feelings about it. Given that kucinich already redirects to Dennis Kucinich, making a redirect of the web page hardly seems essential to me. No contest of CSD here. --Moonriddengirl 21:33, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rizzuto definitely (100% certain) was born in 1917. He had sliced off a year during his playing career when he said 1918. He corrected it many years ago. There is no dispute. Society For American Baseball Research and other biographical researchers have verified this. Please do not revert this again. --KrazyChicken 16:41, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Evil1987,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
