Speedy deletion nomination of Scott Drozd[edit]

Hello Fcpeuro,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Scott Drozd for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

TheLongTone (talk) 14:47, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nick Bauer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Now that the question of your username has been resolved, please review the rules on paid editing. The first line of this policy states:

If you are being paid for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you, who the client is, and any other relevant role or relationship.

That means if you are writing about your company as part of your work for them, disclosure of this connection is mandatory. Undisclosed editing on behalf of a company can result in a loss of editing privileges. On the other hand, open and transparent disclosure will assure other editors that you are acting in good faith, and you will find them more willing to assist you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you are an associate of the editor User:J03yk, who created the FCP Euro article, you should advise them to do the same. I've already left a notice on their talk page but they have not been active since March 20. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:13, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Drm310 okay so I added a block in my talk page that state I am being paid by FCP Euro to work on their main page. Does that suffice?
I've removed the {{Connected contributor}} template because that it meant for article talk pages, not user talk pages. I've also reproduced the disclosure on your user page. That is sufficient. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:11, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Drm310 I really appreciate the assistance. Do you have any advice for us here to keep the page up and not taken down again? Honestly, this is my first go at creating a page on Wikipedia and I know this is relevant considering we are a top tier 5000 company world wide as of this year. I just really don't know how to go about writing the article without getting flagged or taken down for bad references. Also, we never paid Joey for his contribution of creating and adding content to the FCP Euro article. He did that voluntarily knowing that he could do it pretty quickly. As of today, I have since take over the edits and any edits he might be doing is being done voluntarily on his own time, without our assistance. Again, thank you for the help. This is a pretty big learning curve for us all here at FCP Euro.
Agreed, Wikipedia is a difficult environment. There are a number of policies and guidelines that must be followed, so I will attempt to distill them down to the most relevant ones:
  1. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and an academic project. As such, it is selective about the topics it includes.
  2. It is not a business directory where a company gets listed just because it exists.
  3. Articles about companies and organizations must meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. To establish that a company is notable, the article must be composed of previously published information summarized from reliable sources that are independent of the company itself. Sources should have an established reputation for fact-checking and editorial oversight.
  4. Primary sources can report basic facts about a company (e.g. year of establishment, number of employees, etc.), but that alone is not enough to establish notability.
  5. Self-published or company-authored material such as press releases are not considered reliable, and will not count towards establishing notability.
  6. Wikipedia cannot be used with the intent to promote or publicize the company.
  7. Being involved with the company, you have an inherent conflict of interest, because you have a personal stake in how the company is portrayed. This rightly calls into question your motives for writing. Even if they are not self-serving, your position makes it very difficult for you to write from the required neutral point of view.
At this point, I would abandon your efforts on the existing article. If you truly believe that your company merits inclusion and can meet the notability criteria, try creating a draft article. This will exist outside the main article space and will be at less risk for deletion. It will also give other uninvolved, experienced editors the opportunity to review your work and suggest changes before publication. Good luck. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:37, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Drm310 How do I go about moving over the information from the main page to a draft page? Also, even if I move over the information, would the deletion of the main page affect the draft page?Alex at FCPEuro (talk) 20:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Leave a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FCP Euro, requesting that the article content be moved to a draft. And no, the draft will be unaffected by the main article's deletion - the two are independent of one another. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 20:28, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

October 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm KylieTastic. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Draft:FCP Euro/alt— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. KylieTastic (talk) 19:54, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

KylieTastic I deleted the Draft:FCP Euro/alt because it is a copy of Draft:FCP Euro and I didn't think both pages were necessary. I want to just edit and add content and sources to one of them and not have two drafts existing on here.
