Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:XRP Ledger
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:XRP Ledger, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://xrpl.org/history.html. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Appeal
[edit]I have received this message from Adam Hauner. You can still edit this page. If you wish to appeal against my block, copy, complete and save the following {{unblock|"your reason here}}. Note that it is likely to be a condition of any unblock that you will have to agree not to edit on the topic for which you were blocked, XRP Ledger Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:24, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Fersmi (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am inexperienced in wikipedia editing. I am interested in XRP Ledger technology and therefore I am annoyed that the information published here is incorrect. There is a difference between Ripple and XRP Ledger. But here it is presented as the same. Which is wrong. I would therefore like to correct it. I started a draft and invited the XRP community to create the page. Instead, I was blocked. I understand that I didn't start well by copy/paste. But it was supposed to be just a first step. I didn't know that was a forbidden in a draft. After all, it's a draft. If I can't create a draft for XRP Ledger page, then I want to start a discussion about why the Ripple page is wrong.
Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 09:52, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I am not paid by anyone or I don't receive any benefits in connection with my wikipedia activity. My goal is not to harm wikipedia, but on the contrary, my goal is to correct errors in the published information, or at least to start a discussion as to why I think, that information is wrong. I will be very happy if a more experienced editor helps me in this regard. (Jakub Ferschmann (talk) 10:35, 22 July 2021 (UTC))
Decline reason:
Most editors here aren't editing in areas that they have personal knowledge about, since Wikipedia summarizes what independent sources say. Editors edit about what they take note of in those sources. Since you aren't willing to temporarily edit in another area, or have no other ideas about topics to edit about, and also seem to wish to not participate here, there is no reason to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 10:43, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

What is your connection with the topics you have edited about? 331dot (talk) 20:10, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- I am just enthusiast of the technology. It is an open-source, distributed blockchain technology led by a community. Anyone can use it, run or contribute to it. Jakub Ferschmann (talk) 21:30, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- As noted by Jimfbleak above, part of being unblocked will involve you agreeing to not edit about XRP Ledger. What will you edit about instead? I'm also curious as to why you'd not edited in 15 years until two days ago. 331dot (talk) 09:10, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- My friend Adam Hauner is a big wikipedian here in Czech. He always encouraged me to contribute to wikipedia. I didn't know about what. Until to my study at university I joined to a large project on speech recognition, speaking heads, sign language synthesis, etc. MUSSLAP. I wanted to write about it in Czech wikipedia, but even then it was not very well accepted by the administrators. So I gave up. Today I am interested in XRP Ledger and I often come across incorrect information on Wikipedia about it. For example the term XRP Ledger is redirected to Ripple is a mistake. So I decided to change that. I didn't know that after 10 minutes I would have a blocked account. I don't understand how I hurt Wikipedia so much? Even my friend Adam Hauner doesn't understand. I don't understand why I can't start a page about XRP Ledger? How starting a draft about XRP Ledger can be bad for wikipedia, even for anyone? Jakub Ferschmann (talk) 09:59, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- The topic being "bad" for Wikipedia is not the issue. In this type of situation, we usually ask the editor involved to edit in other areas to demonstrate their understanding of Wikipedia guidelines regarding content, which shows that they are interested in contributing to Wikipedia more broadly and helps to confirm that they have no specific conflict of interest with the original topic they were blocked over. If you have no conflict of interest as you say, you should have no problem being willing to edit in other areas for a bit. You would not be permanently prohibited from editing about XRP, but we need to see what else you can do and how you do it. Please answer the question, are you willing to agree to not edit about XRP Ledger? Wikipedia has no deadlines so there is no hurry to have any specific article written. 331dot (talk) 10:11, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- If I want to contribute well, I need to have knowledge about the issue. Currently, I don't have the desire or time to deal with anything else. When I choose another topic, have I a warranty it won't turn out the same way? My goal is not to become a wikipedia editor of any topic. I want to spend my free time fixing and adding information about XRP Ledger. If it's a problem, I dedicate my free time to something else. Maybe in the next 15 years I will have more success. Thank you for your time. Jakub Ferschmann (talk) 10:39, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- It won't turn out the same way because you will be demonstrating you are not a single issue editor and that you understand guidelines. As I said, it would not be a permanent prohibition. 331dot (talk) 10:58, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
