Bruno Senna

Hi there, thanks for understanding. The past few months have just been very eventful health-wise, both physically and mentally. It's all explained on my userpage, if you care to read it. I do plan on returning to the drug wikiproject, etc., but not for at least a few weeks or months. You're right that Wikipedia is in a sense a "safe haven" for me, because this is something I do to relax, and something that doesn't have the deadlines that you have in real life. Symclosene and dichlor

Thanks for your note, excellent pictures, and nice vibes. Chemicals with complex names and commercial value are awkward but important. Since I do change names pretty often, here is my pattern: (i) employ lots of redirects, (ii) the main page, it seems, should be some sort of semi-official chemical name vs something that sounds like a commercial product, and (iii) announce plans or solicit ideas about renaming on the talk page for a week or so. Toxic DNA

Sirolimus

Hi. Happy New Year to you. I'd really like a nice picture of Sirolimus (Rapamycin), which is a promising research drug for tuberous sclerosis. Any chance you could do a pretty picture? The existing one is a GIF. Looking on PubChem shows lots of variants. Clearly the drug forms a big loop, but some drawings are angular and some are perfectly round. Why? There is a 3D aspect to the drug, but perhaps a 3D ball picture would be messy as it is a big drug. Cheers, Colin°^Talk 21:16, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey. I've just noticed your mTOR picture. That's a real work of modern art! Is molecular biology your field? Would you be able to help with (at least some of) the Pathophysiology section in Tuberous sclerosis? I could direct you to some of the recent reviews/papers. This is an area where lots of exciting work is being done but it is way beyond my understanding. That article still needs a whole lot of work, and I can't do it all. Diagram for alpha sheet?

Hey, thanks for moving that misplaced message on my userpage. But of course, I'm here with an ulterior motive beyond just politeness.... ;) It's a bit different from your usual structures, but would you be able to do one of your fancy SVG diagrams for alpha sheet to illustrate the hydrogen bonding pattern, somewhat similar to the image (png) Image:BetaPleatedSheetProtein.png? I don't think I've described it very clearly in the text. There's a stick model in this image from a paper discussing the structure, and Pauling's original model is fig. 2 here. Thanks! My aesthetic preference is for implicit carbons and hence separated R-groups, but I'm not picky :) Colors would be great. That's perfect! The article looks much better now. I agree the R-groups are a little awkward, but there's not much else to do with them in 2D :) No particular preferences on the beta sheets (though I really like the colors on the alpha sheet) - the existing ones that don't show any atoms are colorful, but kind of hard to read.
