Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "GALAMAC", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:35, 24 June 2020 (UTC) Hello! Gala MAC is my nickname, not the name of a business, I'm just an individual. Hope that's OK and do advise if it's better to change anyways! Thanks! GALAMAC (talk) 02:24, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

COI
[edit]Hello! Are you associated with, or know, any of the subjects you have written about? For example Stephen Thorpe or David Zwirmer gallery? I see you have disclosed that you are not compensated or your edits, but you should also know that our WP:COI policy applies to editors writing about subjects they are connected to. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 07:50, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- And in answer to your question about creating an article if COI (or paid), either are allowed as long as declared on your User page. There is prejudice among editors toward paid editors, but that can be surmounted by being strictly neutral and using independent references. ONCE AN ARTICLE IS ACCEPTED, paid editors are supposed to only request changes - at the article's Talk page - rather than edit directly, so best to be as complete as possible before submitting a draft to AfC for review. David notMD (talk) 14:38, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- To follow up on your COI question at the Teahouse, as David NotMD says, you can create an article through the Articles for Creation process, using the Wizard mentioned above. I asked you about COI so that you would know that we are not here for promotion; you had mentioned "art consultancy" on your talk page. You can still create an article via AFC and then you should step back from editing it if it is acepted, instead making edit requests via the talk page. The second part of that process is delaring a COI on your user page so that other editors know you are connected. Thanks.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 16:50, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Orange Mike | Talk 19:57, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Your draft article, Draft:Stephen Thorpe (artist)
