Orphaned non-free image File:Khalid Shekh Mohammed by Janet Hamlin -- after correcting the size of his nose.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Khalid Shekh Mohammed by Janet Hamlin -- after correcting the size of his nose.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. King of 05:47, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I never came at him in a threatining manner, I simply was shocked that a admin would quicky delete several notable articles without hesitation. Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk) 02:07, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(The above is in response to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Live_and_Die_4_Hip_Hop&diff=412068050&oldid=410640416)
OK, a couple of points:
  1. When articles are tagged with a {{prod}} administrators are supposed to give interested parties 7 days to contest that {{prod}}. Now the contributor who tagged the articles was supposed to give you a heads-up. And that contributor seems to have let the project down. But if Courcelles let that 7 day period run to completion, I wouldn't call the deletion "quick".
  2. I accept at face value that you didn't anticipate your notes would be seen as confrontational. But I encourage you to accept, at face value, Courcelles comment he or she found your notes confrontational. I assure you I am not a friend or ally of Courcelles. Like you I too am trying to discuss some deletions they made that I think were mistakes. So, so far as I am concerned, I encourage you to think of my note as coming from an uninvolved third party. I am going to remind you that you picked "What is wrong with you?" as the subject heading.
  3. Did you see that Choppa has been restored? I added those references. But I would prefer to let you finish polishing the article.
Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 04:00, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BLP issues

[edit]

Geo, as you probably know by now, Suspected jihadists from the Maldives was deleted as an egregious BLP violation. This was because what sourcing was there only mentioned the people on that list in passing. You've been here awhile, so you should really know better. Blueboy96 20:10, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RfC notification

[edit]

An RfC on your conduct has been opened at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Geo Swan. You are invited to participate there to present your side of the story. Fram (talk) 13:08, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hope I can assist with the procedural issues of this. Your response isn't required within 48 hours but obviously, the sooner it's posted, the better - so that others commenting can also see it. Bear in mind that the RfC/U is almost certainly going to close after 30 days. When drafting a response, do read the views that have been provided and the statement of the dispute as written by the certifiers; any comments you make on the desired outcome may be relevant (in fact, you might even propose an outcome that modifies that proposal, and that might become a compromise attempt). You can post as many responses you need to in your section (and leave a section for endorsing each response so others can indicate their endorsements). But if you're just responding to a specific outside view or statement, then you would need to do that on the talk page. Again, I hope that helps. I have nominated Rashid Awad Rashid Al Uwaydah for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rashid Awad Rashid Al Uwaydah. Fram (talk) 14:59, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abdulaziz Saleh Sultan Sinan Al Dossary requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. noclador (talk) 02:32, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
