Welcome Ghoshpreet singh!

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
[edit]HI! Before going ahead with reverting your changes, I wanted to let you know that you need to substantiate your changes using reliable sources. Also, please ensure that edit summaries are not rude even if you disagree as writing is a collaborative effort rather than antagonistic. Best! Vikram Vincent 08:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Mahar
[edit]Hi! I reverted your edit on Mahar cause the source you used do not satisfy WP:RS. Please see WP:BRD on how to proceed further. There is a discussion opened on the article talk page which you may use to build consensus. Vikram Vincent 15:43, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
. 331dot (talk) 12:47, 1 January 2021 (UTC)We cannot stop you from exercising any legal rights you have in your country, but you cannot make legal threats on Wikipedia, nor can you edit Wikipedia if you have a legal action underway. You can pursue any grievances you have in the courts/judicial system of your country or on Wikipedia, but not both. To be unblocked, you will need to unequivocally withdraw the threats of legal action or indicate that any legal action you have initiated has been resolved.
I am also concerned about your accusations of caste-based bias. This is a global project with many editors from outside India, where most places do not have castes. You have also posted copyrighted content against policy. You must address all of these points should you choose to request unblock. 331dot (talk) 12:51, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Request reason:
Can you point out where and when did I threaten anyone ?? Ghoshpreet singh (talk) 14:14, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This is a clear violation of WP:NLT. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:16, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- @Boing! said Zebedee: What we're dealing with here is a simple misunderstanding. There was a legal threat, but it was made in this edit by an IP who didn't sign their message which apparently caused confusion as to who said what. Ghosphpreet_singh merely responded to the IP, asking them to not make any hasty decisions ("Wait brother") and at least wait a few days for a response ("If he doesn't show up here with explanation within 2 to 3 working days then you can consider booking him"), which I think was a reasonable attempt at de-escalating the situation by someone unfamiliar with the inner workings of enwiki (though it admittedly would've been better for Ghoshpreet to just outright condemn the legal threats instead of trying to buy the affected editor some time). Ghoshpreet_singh cannot withdraw the legal threat that was made because he was not the one who made it. I hope this explanation is sufficient as far as NLT goes. 78.28.44.204 (talk) 04:44, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's still a legal threat, by suggesting that the IP can engage in a legal action at a later time. Any threat of legal action creates a chilling effect on other editors. 331dot (talk) 11:04, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Let's assume that your logic is correct; just how do we expect Ghospreet_singh to withdraw that legal threat and nullify its "chilling effect?" It would seem to me that he can't; I mean, how does one withdraw someone else's legal threats? Would something like "I'm sure the IP will not pursue any legal action" work? I'm very confused. 78.28.44.204 (talk) 15:40, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- 78.28.44.204, I'm sure Ghoshpreet singh can appeal for themself - we don't consider appeals made by other people. It's easy for them to make an appeal, but I'm not going to formulate it for them and post it here because we need it in their words not mine (and not yours).
