Hello, Haikal FK 1705

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Xx236, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, TemplateːSundanese-stub, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Xx236}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Translations[edit]

Hello. Recently you have translated a number of pages from Bahasa Indonesia to English. I wondered if you have considered translating id:Aksara Lampung, which currently does not have an English version? Thanks in advance. --Glennznl (talk) 11:03, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brebian Sundanese language moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Brebian Sundanese language, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari[edit]

I invite you to please join the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari.

Hello, we are seeking help with the Sarah Azhari article, created in 2013 & recently the subject of a deletion proposal. At issue was whether or not the Indonesian language sources establish notability. I am inviting you to the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari#Help with Indonesian language sources because you are in the Category:User id-N & have a minimum of 1,000 edits across all Wikimedia projects.

I realize that some of you are very busy while others may no longer be editing. Nevertheless, I thought it wise to consult with you.

Thank your for the work that you do on Wiki[mp]edia! Peaceray (talk) 21:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Wiktionary[edit]

Hi Haikal FK 1705! Since you are the most prolific editor in all things Sundanese, I want hear your opinion about this:[1]. What do you think, is it a good idea to have main entries of Sundanese words in Sundanese script in a dictionary that also serves a practical purpose?

Also the term "Romanization" is IMO quite off, since the Latin spelling is not just an auxilliary transliteration of the Sundanese script, but the writing system that all Sundanese speakers are proficient in. The promotion of the Sundanese script is of course an exciting project, but Wiktionary should reflect actual usage and add Sundanese script forms as additional, not as main entries.

I'll bring this to the discussion boards of Wiktionary, but I thought I should discuss this first with a native speaker who strongly cares about this topic. Austronesier (talk) 13:51, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I also think we should prioritize using Latin spelling in writing Sundanese word entries rather than using the Sundanese script itself. However, in my opinion, the writing of the Sundanese words entries can imitate the Malay words entries which uses two spellings at once, Jawi and Latin, and still provides explanations for both forms of the writing system. Like on makan and ماکن. Instead of just including the term "Romanization" in Latin spelling. Haikal FK 1705 (talk) 14:34, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your input! I think English Wiktionary disfavors double full entries to avoid discrepancies (e.g. in the Etymology and Pronunciation sections). I have developed a system for Makassarese with "light" entries in Lontara' script (e.g. wikt:ᨅᨘᨈ), maybe I can propose something similar for Sundanese. –Austronesier (talk) 15:18, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Trill[edit]

Hi again! This transcription in Brebes Sundanese has caught my eye: [basa sʊnda ʙəbəs]. Is it really a bilabial trill [ʙ]? I have listened to a couple of YouTube videos supposedly illustrating the Brebes dialect, and only heard [br] or [bɾ]. Austronesier (talk) 13:05, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you are right, I made a mistake and typo at that time. Haikal FK 1705 (talk) 05:48, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Baduy people[edit]

Hi @Haikal FK 1705, you've recently made a number of edits on the Baduy people page, none of which included an edit summary. I reverted the first one, mentioning that it was unexplained, and you proceeded to make further edits, again without bothering to leave an edit summary. Some of the edits you made may be valid (others are simply puzzling), but unless you explain why you make a change, your reasoning may not be obvious to other editors, and at first glance, they may seem to be nothing more than disruptiveness. I don't wish to impugn your intentions, but it is not only a requirement but also good policy to always include an edit summary, for the sake of interested readers and editors to understand the nature of the changes you make. Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:19, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
