October 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm HazelAB. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Petrarch because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! HazelAB (talk) 18:47, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have been adding links the same article (by Mailman) to reference lists of numerous Wikipedia articles without any indication of its relevance, and without citing the Mailman article in the text. To avoid having such links removed (as I have done) please use an edit summary to explain why they are relevant. Thanks! HazelAB (talk) 19:06, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, actually links to a number of different articles by or concerning Mailman over the last year or so. You should be aware that repeated addition of unnecessary citations, while it isn't a crime, can be seen as WP:REFSPAM, and can be quite unpopular. Also, if you happen to have any connection to Mailman, please read our guidelines on conflict of interest editing. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:27, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Heraclites (talk) 15:35, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Heraclites. I think the article I added to the Petrarch page was constructive because that article has a fairly intricate discussion of Petrarch's sonnets and his life. Is that not enough to make it relevant? 01:37, 13 January 2015 (UTC) Heraclites[reply]

Without exception, every link I've added to any Wikipedia page is relevant to the page I added it to, although I might have neglected to indicate the specifics of that relevance in the edit summary.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Heraclites. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 22:34, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
