Bangla wikipedia[edit]

Hi Indranee, please check out the Bangla wikipedia here: http://bn.wikipedia.org . If you can't see the Bangla text, please get Bangla unicode fonts from here. If the e-kar, I-kars are misplaced, please check here. Thanks. --Ragib 00:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WB[edit]

I hope you are not getting me wrong regarding the list page ... actually I'm just cleaning up several pages with incorrect information/categorization. For example, there is no problem in including JCB in the Category:People of Kolkata, but when you say "From" that means he hails from there. Thanks. --Ragib 01:21, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks, Ragib, I do understand what you're saying. :) Indranee 14:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shyakta[edit]

I do not know really, but does shyakta mean "Shiva worshipper"? (as you mentioned in Kalighat) I thought it means kali worshipper. I am not sure though! Could you please verify ? Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 09:46, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dwaipayan, thanks for the links and the welcome. well, like most bengalis, my father's family is primarily Shakta and from what I know, the Saivite and the Shakta beliefs and motifs are pretty much interchangeable. part of this stems from the fact that in Bengal at least Kali or Durga (or Dakshayani or Jagaddhatri etc), although goddesses in their own right, are also considered as physical manifestations of the various facets of Siva's power. either way, I'll recheck it again and maybe type in "Saivite" as well. I'll try to cite this time. just give me a day or two. thanks! Indranee 14:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome again[edit]

Though Ragib has already welcomed you, let me provide you with some more links.
