Draft: John Kessler, Chronicler of Early American Naval History

[edit]

Dear Mr. McClenon, We’re not sure what part of the article you’re referring to. From our viewpoint, the very limited added information about Barry adds background and closure to the fact that Kessler's writings about Barry, as referenced by multiple Barry biographers and Navy writers (article references 2,3,6,7,8,10, and 11), significantly enhanced the central theme of Barry's reputation – his skill, leadership, and brilliance as a sea Captain in the American Revolution. The many interesting chapters of Barry’s life, including the part shared with Kessler, is detailed in a recent biography of John Barry by author-historian Tim McGrath (article reference 2 - John Barry – An American Hero in the Age of Sail) Bill Kessler (JBandJohnK (talk) 03:32, 12 September 2016 (UTC))[reply]
