Preston hazard moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Preston hazard, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your submission at Articles for creation: Fundamentally Cynical (October 23)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by ReaderofthePack was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This doesn't establish how the show is notable - keep in mind that notability is not inherited from the show having notable persons involved or airing on a notable streaming site. You have to establish notability via coverage in independent and reliable sources, such as reviews in newspapers or the like.

The Reading Eagle source is fine, but it's not enough on its own. IMDb cannot establish notability and the RT link doesn't have any reviews. The Forbes piece is written by a contributor, making it a self-published source, and it also only announces that it was renewed - something that doesn't establish notability in and of itself, so this would be a trivial source even if the author was established to be someone who is typically seen as a reliable source. The other two links are primary sources, as it's a link to a book by the show's creator and Amazon Prime.

I don't really see where this would overturn the prior AfD from a few months ago either, to be honest. I tried looking for sources on my own, in hopes that I may find something, but there's just not anything out there. It's possible that it may gain more coverage in the future, particularly if Amazon orders more episodes, but for now this just isn't notable.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Preston Hazard (Musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 2A01:4C8:A1:F08E:BD9A:CCD7:C7BA:DDA6 (talk) 19:10, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have declined the speedy deletion nomination of Preston Hazard (Musician), because the earlier deletion wasn't the outcome of a deletion discussion. This doesn't imply any opinion either way on whether the article should be deleted; it merely means that it doesn't qualify under that particular deletion criterion. JBW (talk) 20:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now deleted the article for a totally different reason, namely that you copied it from a draft, infringing the copyright of other editors. If it had been suitable as an article I could have merged the draft's history with the article, but since the article provided no evidence whatever of satisfying Wikipedia's notability guidelines, there was no point in doing that. JBW (talk) 21:06, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A question about a draft[edit]

Did you write the text of Draft:Fundamentally Cynical yourself, or did you copy some or all of it from somewhere? If you did copy it, where did you copy it from? JBW (talk) 20:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
