Please put List of nations on your watch list. I though it had been settled but Mat Lewis clearly does not a he waited a year and then changed the redirect. -- PBS (talk) 04:46, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Categories

I hope you don't mind my removing categories from a subpage of yours, as categories shouldn't populate such pages. Best, Verbal chat 17:02, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Fair enough - if they don't belong they don't belong. I've requested the page be speedied anyway because I'd forgotten I had it. Pfainuk talk 17:04, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Falklands Units

What to do? The situation can't be allowed to continue where one editor is effectively vetoing everything unless he gets his way. Justin talk 18:37, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

I think we have a fairly strong case for non-unanimous consensus here. Goodness knows we've tried to get his agreement. And it would be going by his word: he said he wouldn't contest WP:FALKLANDSUNITS if no-one else did - and notably, no-one else did. Also notably, he's only actually opposed on procedural grounds (that he doesn't think we'll keep up our end of the bargain) - not on grounds of substance (that there's something wrong with the proposal).
If you agree with my feeling that there is actually non-unanimous consensus, then the next job is to start changing articles - which I don't mind starting on tomorrow. I figure on going down the importance scale, obviously excluding any that are clearly more connected to some other project.
On the consistency rule, last time around I only applied it where we were actually using (say) distance and area in the same paragraph. The rule is, if a metric measure is "significantly inconsistent" with an imperial one, use imperial for both, and then continue using imperial for that context in the rest of the article (for internal consistency). In practice, this generally means that all land areas in an article go imperial if one of them happens to be in the same paragraph as a distance - and not much else. Pfainuk talk 21:08, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
OK I have kinda suggested we just go ahead and ignore him, I can make a low key start as I have a lot of commitments at the moment. Would it not be better to work to the weekend. Justin talk 21:23, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Might be easier, yeah. Let's start at the weekend then. Pfainuk talk 06:19, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
OK no worries, btw seen his latest love note? Justin talk 08:00, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah. He's run out of arguments, methinks. Pfainuk talk 18:36, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Edit-summaries and WP:CIVILITY

Pfainuk, I really don't want to get entangled in this dispute, but the "cleaning up Michael's mess" summaries are likely to cause offence. Will you please moderate these messages? Tony (talk) 03:39, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

If positions were reversed, would you say the same to Michael? Of course not. Please don't try and set yourself up as a neutral observer here - we all know you're not and it doesn't help anyone. Pfainuk talk 09:10, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

3RR

No I had no intention of edit warring but I wasn't prepared to allow a racist epithet to remain in that article. Justin talk 19:38, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Fair enough. Pfainuk talk 19:41, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

POV Pusher?

I would appreciate an explanation for this accusation. I also recommend you discuss this in the Talk Page [1] instead of reverting a referenced edition. JCRB (talk) 09:32, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Simple. You do nothing on Wikipedia but push a pro-Spanish and apparently now a pro-Argentine POV. You are a POV pusher. Pfainuk talk 17:06, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Notification

A proposal to change the layout and sorting criteria of the article List of sovereign states has been finalised and submitted for consensus.

RFM

I've opened up a WP:RFM for List of sovereign states at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/List of sovereign states. Please indicate whether you agree or don't agree to mediation there. TDL (talk) 00:40, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Request for mediation of List of sovereign states

A request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to List of sovereign states was recently filed. As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. The process of mediation is entirely voluntary and focuses exclusively on the content issues over which there is disagreement. Please review the request page and the guide to mediation requests and then indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you would agree to participate. Discussion relating to the mediation request welcome at the case talk page.

Thanks for the heads up but for information I'm avoiding the article for the moment. Kind of a lame dispute, when a cool calm discussion could easily have resolved it. Justin talk 23:28, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Name Change & Territorial Waters

For info, changed it because I was fed up with prats making stupid jokes. Found an interesting article [2] on the legality in International Law of Spain denying territorial waters to Gibraltar. Gibraltar Discretionary Sanctions

This is a courtesy note to inform you that articles and discussions about Gibraltar or concerning the history, people, or political status of Gibraltar are subject to a discretionary sanctions remedy. Please see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gibraltar#Discretionary sanctions. You are being notified per the actions logged here. Gibraltar

I sense you're tired, pissed off and frustrated. Not the best frame of mind to be editing. Stop, take 24hrs and don't respond to needling. Yes? Wee Curry Monster talk 22:04, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

I have provided a warning about discussion participation at Talk:Gibraltar#Discussion Warning. This is to ensure you have been explicitly notified. This note does not indicate any wrongdoing on your part. I am sending it to all talk page participants with the past 72 hours.

As a recent participant, I explicitly invite you to join in the discussion that I have started at Talk:Gibraltar#Refocus. Discussions on the talk page are going around in old circles. I am trying to help break that pattern and get the discussion focused. I look forward to your contributions in helping improve the article. --Vassyana (talk) 21:01, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Removal of maintenance templates

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Falkland Islands. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MFIreland (talkcontribs) 14:20, 22 December 2010

Uh-huh. The template refers to a dispute that does not appear to exist. As you have been told multiple times by multiple editors, you can't template the article when there is no dispute mentioned on talk. Pfainuk talk 15:33, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
