File permission problem with File:Roger Wang.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Roger Wang.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 09:25, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Marketing Institute of Singapore
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Marketing Institute of Singapore, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic, and as an article about an organization that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. See CSD A7. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. —SMALLJIM 10:17, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Request reason:
After writing to the wiki information team, I understand that infringement of the rules of wiki of having content of the promotional nature is not allowed. I have created a new username 'JoreenatMIS'. I also understand that Roger Wang's photo should not be uploaded without the written permission from the photographer, who is the owner of the photograph. As such, I would request for it to be removed. Having said so, I would like to appeal for MIS article/page to be restored back to 16 Jan 2014 if possible. Many thanks. Moving ahead, I will ensure my article contain neutral tone expected of an encyclopedia.
Decline reason:
This is not a request for unblock: it's a statement of intent to wP:EVADE, and partially addresses WP:GAB. Making requests to make a specific, unaccepted edit to an article is NOT a valid unblock request the panda ₯’ 00:27, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- You are not allowed to remove declined unblock requests while the block is still in effect. You are also not allowed to create new accounts in order to get around the block; I have blocked User:JoreenatMIS as a result. Yunshui 雲水 10:26, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Request to unblock
[edit]MIS1973 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
your reason here Dear Administrators, I sincerely request for unblock of Marketing Institute of Singapore Page. My last action of creating a new username was unintentional as I thought that was required before unblock can be done. The instruction given to me by Admin AXL Matulic was "Your request was declined due to the username you chose and because you did not address the concerns that led to your block. Please try again with a less ambiguous username ("Joreen at MIS" should be fine), and appeal your block by describing your understanding of why you were blocked and what you plan to do if unblocked." I also understand that content of a promotional nature/tone or content created by an employee of a company is not allowed. I rest reassure that content will be more carefully thought through prior to update. I would appreciate if the content could be restored back to 16 Jan 2014. Thank you.
Decline reason:
Although I declined one a week ago, this unblock request has been awaiting review for >3 days. No: you CANNOT create the MIS article, nor will we restore it - it's promotion, spam, and you have conflict of interest which means you may not create it - you agreed to that when you signed up. As your sole intent is to work on a page that you cannot, there's no need to unblock at this time the panda ₯’ 23:21, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
