Thank you for your contribution! A question, if I may: Given that admins and editors are (correctly) getting more careful with citing information, is there a source for the note that some fans are "annoyed" at the prominence given the Hermione character in the Potter films (as compared with the novels)? This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Elizabeth Swann.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 03:28, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use

[edit]

I reverted your addition of the image to the Alicia Witt article because you forgot to add a detailed fair-use justification, as you are required to do. Please note that the Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. --Yamla 18:41, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SpencerTracy.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 18:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

You have been blocked for continuing to upload copyrighted images without specifying source or copyright information (and in any case, the images weren't used fairly). An example of this is your upload of Image:000.jpg. This block is for 48 hours. Please do not do this again. Wikipedia takes copyright violation very seriously and your next block will be for substantially longer. --Yamla 03:54, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Hi there. I randomly clicked through a few of your image uploads and noticed that none of them have any sources. Sources are required for all images. Please drop me a message on my talk page within the next day or so letting me know that you'll start adding the sources. I don't expect you to add them all in a day of course, but I need to know that you are going to take care of it. Otherwise, I'll be tagging them all for deletion. Hey there. Noticed you recently made a change to this article and I beleive you have added a POV which is not necessarily shared by others. I have raised a discussion on it and you might like to go in there and indicate where you are sourcing this information from and whether it is just your own personal view that his acting career was in decline or if this is indeed factual. [edit]

You have been warned over and over again that images need a source, a correct license, and a detailed fair-use rationale. You continue to blatantly violate copyright by uploading images with none of this (and, in the case of Image:Laura prepon2.jpg, a deliberately false license). I warned you that the next time I caught you doing this, you would be blocked for substantially longer. I have blocked you for a full month. You are deliberately putting Wikipedia at risk because of these violations. If you have learnt your lesson and promise to ensure that all future images will have the necessary and correct information and that you will correct all the images you have uploaded so far (the ones that haven't been deleted already, at least), you can request an unblock by adding {{unblock|Reason for unblock}} to this page. Either myself or any other admin will then unblock you fairly quickly. --Yamla 04:04, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mike Young 2002 He Man.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mike Young 2002 He Man.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Proposed deletion of Phil Rose

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Phil Rose, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
