Information icon Greetings. Your article, Europeiska organisationen för utnyttjande av meteorologiska satelliter, was already deleted once today because english wikipedia already has an article, EUMETSAT, on the same topic. Please do not keep proposing your Swedish-language version for inclusion. If you wish to expand the existing English-language article, in English, please do so. Thanks. ubiquity (talk) 17:02, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Var snäll och skriv inte på svenska i engelska Wikipedia. Text på svenska hör hemma i svenska Wikipedia. Tack! Please do not contribute text in Swedish to English Wikipedia. Your contributions are more than welcome at the Swedish Wikipedia. De728631 (talk) 17:45, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your article has been moved to the Swedish Wikipedia at sv:EUMETSAT. Please feel free to edit it over there. De728631 (talk) 17:46, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me with...I added a page to the swedish wikipage site, then tried to link to it from the main EUMETSAT page. I get this message and WIKIPEDIA will NOT create the link.

The external client site 'svwiki' did not provide page information for page 'Europeiska_organisationen_för_utnyttjande_av_meteorologiska_satelliter'

How do I get this done? The page was created and saved in svwiki.

Your article has been deleted on the SVWiki. Dat GuyTalkContribs 16:10, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)It seems that your page sv: Europeiska organisationen för utnyttjande av meteorologiska satelliteron sv-wiki has been deleted as a machine translation; and a page sv:EUMETSAT was also deleted yesterday because it was not in Swedish. If you make a page in Swedish at the title "EUMETSAT", it will be automatically linked by Wikidata, and a link will appear in the list under "Languages" at the foot of the left-hand side-bar of the English article EUMETSAT, where you can see many inter-language links already. EUMETSAT: reply to your message on my talk page

[edit]

First, you need to get an article accepted on the Swedish Wikipedia. I cannot help you there, because each language Wikipedia is a separate organization with its own rules and standards. Two attempts at Swedish articles, sv:EUMETSAT and sv:Europeiska organisationen för utnyttjande av meteorologiska satelliter, have been deleted, evidently because Swedish administrators did not consider that they were in good enough Swedish. If you click on those links you will see the deletion logs which give the reasons, and also give the names of the Swedish deleting administrators and links to their talk pages.

You could ask either of them for advice; the approach I suggest would be to make a "userspace draft" article at sv:Användare:MeyerRK/EUMETSAT and place the Swedish equivalent of the "helpme" template, which you would write as {{Hjälp}}, on your Swedish user talk page to ask for assistance in correcting the Swedish and moving it into the main Swedish encyclopedia as an article. You may find sv:Wikipedia:Skriv en ny artikel helpful.

Once a Swedish article with title EUMETSAT is accepted, you will find that Wikidata will link to it automatically; if that does not happen after a day or two, you can edit EUMETSAT's Wikidata entry d:Q692163 to add it. If you choose another title, you will have to link it to Q692163 manually, but I suggest using EUMETSAT as the most likely title for an enquirer to search on. You can then make a WP:Redirect from the full name, if you like.

I see that you have created three other Wikidata entries, d:Q22024936, d:Q22041793 and d:Q22056337. That will only cause confusion, and I advise you to ask at d:Wikidata:Requests for deletions for them to be deleted as duplicates of Q692163.

One final point: it helps to know who said what when if you "sign" your contributions on talk pages (but not in articles) by ending them with a group of four "tilde" characters ~~~~, which the system will turn into a "signature" of your username and the time and date, like this: JohnCD (talk) 18:10, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

EUMETSAT in Swedish - no progress

[edit]

"nowiki" tags are used to tell the software not to interpret any "wikicode" between them. I used them around {{Hjälp}} because I did not want to activate them on this talk page; I should have told you not to copy them.

As you did copy them to the Swedish draft page, the call for help was not immediately activated. When I saw them there, I removed them, and shortly afterwards a Swedish user removed the Hjälp tag with edit-summary "-hjälpmall, användaren verkar vilja att någon ska översätta åt honom eller henne" whih is not very helpful.

I'm sorry it seems so difficult to get the Swedes to understand what you want. My next suggestion is to place the {{Hjälp}} template (without nowiki or tt tags) on your Swedish user talk page sv:Användardiskussion:MeyerRK, with a message below it explaining even more clearly that this is a draft intended to be an article in sv-wp, and that if the Swedish is not correct or there is some other problem, you would be grateful if someone could correct it or explain to you what needs to be done in order to have to have it accepted. Provide a link to the draft page: you do that by writing its title between double square brackets [[Användare:MeyerRK/EUMETSAT]] (no tt or nowiki tags; no need for an "sv" prefix within sv-wp.

If that does not produce a helpful response, you could leave a message on the talk page sv:Användardiskussion:Yger of the administrator who deleted it as "not in Swedish". Finally, if you still have difficulty making the Swedes understand, WP:Local Embassy#svenska (sv) gives names of some English-speaking Swedish users. Check their contributions to find one who is currently active.
