Proposed deletion of James Ibold[edit]

The article James Ibold has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Hi. All you need to do to prevent James Ibold being deleted is to demonstrate notability. That means a cite from a third party reliable source, some kind of write up that is actually about James Ibold himself. Not something about someone he once worked with. Not something that mentions him in a listing, or quoting him talking about someone else.

Do you have anything of one of his gigs or recordings being reviewed? Any interviews with him about his work?

Names in citations[edit]

Hello MiInReAs. Just a note to say that the first= and last= fields in citation templates are meant to be used for the first and last names of the author of the source, not the subject of the Wikipedia article you are writing about. So, for example, here, citing this, you should have listed Larry Nager as the author, not Big Joe Duskin. Also, the text you put in the title= field should match the title of the source article ("Cammys honors career of Big Joe Duskin"). Cordless Larry (talk) 18:29, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The proposed deletion process for unsourced biographies requires all biographies of living persons to have at least one reliable source that supports at least one statement about the subject. Once the article is tagged in this manner, the tag may not be removed until such a source is provided. If none is forthcoming, the article may be deleted after seven days. This does not affect any other deletion process.

Lady's and Gentleman of the Wikipedia editorial site; I have many reliable sources cited that support claims. I have added....

The one included I will cite is from: The Cincinnati Enquirer from Sunday February 6, 2005 Page 52,

"Local musician James Ibold met Duskin at Dollar Bills in the 1970s, and has since traveled the world to perform with him. The guitarist says that Duskin is noted for his strongly melodic song structures and his skilled left-hand runs on the keyboard. Learned from the greats Duskin provides one of the last living connections to Meade Lux Lewis, Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons and the other musicians who forged the boogie woogie style, Ibold says. "Joe is the direct descendent and learned directly from them," he says. "He is definitely the king of the boogie woogie."

Now I have stated Big Joe Duskin introduced James Ibold as his "consummate guitarist for over thirty years" on their final performance together on the Arches Piano Stage at the Cincinnati Blues Festival. Big Joe Duskin's statement about the subject of James Ibold and a news paper article supporting Claims from a Reliable Source states: since the 70's Ibold has traveled the world to perform with him.

Those are and have at least one reliable source that supports at least one statement about the subject.

That is the verbatim definition of your Proposed deletion of biographies of living people.

Hi Larry, Here is the text I read about saving a copy on my userspace: Wikipedia:How to save an article proposed for deletion Make a copy of the article[edit] It may be useful to copy and paste the article into your userspace. Create a page titled User:Your username/Article name, where you can preserve the article. Just to clarify (having seen your previous comments about me below), the reason I removed material from the James Ibold article was not my suspicion that you have a conflict of interest, but because you had made clear that the material came from your personal knowledge of Ibold rather than published sources.
