Image copyright problem with Image:Taz bentley vaden lewis.jpgThanks for uploading Image:Taz bentley vaden lewis.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy). The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. BRossow 18:25, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:BJkat2.gifThanks for uploading Image:BJkat2.gif. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}. If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have any concerns, contact the bot's owner: Carnildo. 11:51, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Carnival cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Carnival cover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 16:35, 3 March 2006 (UTC) My RfAThank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you! Not an admin?I noticed you added your name to Wikipedia:List_of_non-admins_with_high_edit_counts but did not mark yourself in bold. Are you by chance interested in becoming a Wikipedia administrator? Best regards, Hall Monitor 18:26, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
subst When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thanks! howcheng {chat} 18:23, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
You have been nominatedHi Myleslong. I've reviewed your contributions and am of the opinion that you've got what it takes to be an admin. ;-) At your convenience, please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Myleslong and sign your Thanks
My RfACongratulations!Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Francs2000 12:14, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Best wish for your adminship.--Jusjih 06:16, 16 March 2006 (UTC) My RFAThank you for supporting my RFA. I appreciated the show of support and all the kind words. If there's ever anything I can do to help with my new administrator status, please don't hesitate to contact me. --Myles Long 14:16, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Reverend Horton Heat - Millennium CollectionThanks for sorting that out. I meant to move the page and clean up the links, but got called away from the computer before I finished it. :) —Serein 23:08, 15 March 2006 (UTC) My RFA withdrawal :(Hello Myles Long, it is my apologies to bring you that I've withdrawn my RFA. Due to the lack of experience, I would go under admin coaching first before trying again later. I would thank you for your support in this RFA whether you voted support, oppose or neutral for me. I appericiate your comments (if you do have) you made and I hope to see you here in future. --Terence Ong 05:47, 18 March 2006 (UTC) Tampering With Lubbock High's ArticleThanks alot for your unwanted tampering. The student body president's approval was recieved for the tribute to William "Buffalo Bill" Meadors. This man (Meadors) has dedicated his ENTIRE life to serving Lubbock High School. I am outraged that you would offer your "help." We don't need any interference from Houstonians. Edit J. Frank Dobie's page instead. I will be discussing your actions with the student body president tomorrow. Good day.—This unsigned comment was added by 70.185.146.37 (talk • contribs) .
Missing userbox?
Also, I'm currently a Life Scout about to make Eagle. I'm wondering why you no longer wish to be associated with the BSA leadership.—This unsigned comment was added by V-pizz (talk • contribs) .
My RfAMy RfA recently closed and it was a success, passing at 84-02-00. I would like to thank you for taking the time to weigh in and on your subsequent support. And I know it's quite cliche, but if you ever need any assistance and/or want another opinion on something, grab a Pepsi and don't hesitate to drop me a line on my talk page. Thanks again. Pepsidrinka 04:42, 27 March 2006 (UTC) Regarding Texas Tech imagesRegarding you revert OrphanBot's removal of images from the Texas Tech University article on March 14th. Those images still don't have any source info on it. In fact, I requested one of the uploader not once but twice to give proper credit. There is no evidence that the Texas Tech website "allows anyone to use it for any purpose." --65.150.46.208 04:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
The Tall Man from PhantasmHi, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind improving the article to non-stub status please - SGCommand Chin musicHi, I have done some work on the Bruce Campbell article, which I noticed you have taken an interest in. Could you check out the article in its current iteration and let me know what you think? Aguerriero (ţ) (ć) (ë) 22:46, 11 April 2006 (UTC) WikitruthOf course I'm joking. The Khmer-Rouge-in-diapers element is easy to parody. - Xed 18:12, 19 April 2006 (UTC) Scouting article workIf you are getting this, it is because you do or did work on Scouting articles (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting#Participants_and_primary_areas_of_interest). As the Scouting WikiProject has been formed since early January 2006, we've had many great improvements made in this area of Wiki and I want to personally thank everyone for their help. We don't always agree on things, but we keep moving forward. YIS, Rlevse 22:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC) SR?Are you Swamp Rat? I was user 200 on whatever that freakin board in 806 was called

KTXTMy apologies for the "W" typo. But I stand behind my intent: I was just trying to get some consistency between KTXT and everything else on the College radio station category. The category IS primarily a list of "K" stations and "W" stations. I'd happily edit every single station on the list if one policy or the other could be enforced. My personal method has been to use the 2nd letter for categories where all stations start with the same letter (all NY stations start with "W", so sorting on the 2nd letter is preferred) and to use the first (K, W, X, or C) in categories where both appear (College radio stations in the United States, for example, or NBC affiliates). Universally sorting on the second letter yields results like this:
Seems to me that sorting on the 1st letter is better in these situations. Please respond on my talk page. Xstryker 19:53, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Friday the 13th templateThanks for adding my Friday the 13th (comics) article to the Friday the 13th template. That was my next project but I only just located the template page and you beat me to it. Thanks again! JohnBWatt 20:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC) |
