As far as the coincidence goes: I saw that you had made an edit to Duluth lynchings and that nobody had welcomed you yet, so I sent you a welcome message. I have the page on my watchlist because the article needed work at the time. (It probably still could use some work, but at least things have improved.) I removed the importance banner from the Dade Behring entry because I was editing the article. The only reason that I even started the article is because the company is mentioned in the Emil Adolf von Behring article and I thought that people who read his entry may be interested in the company. I dont have the time to sit down and write the whole entry so I put up the incomplete banner. When I read the importance banner and the page that goes with it(that says:"This Wikipedia article or category is currently inactive and is kept primarily for historical interest.") I thought that since I was going to edit the article, the banner could come down. In the next few days I will closely read up on Notability and edit or remove the article. Thanks for your input. Can I put the article Compact Disc player on your desk? I found the language too silly to edit the whole article — though not as silly as Canadian literature before I edited it. If I may butt in, she was right to tag the article for speedy deletion, since there is no assertion of notability. Read WP:MUSIC to find out what makes a band worthy of inclusion. If they haven't released an album, they're almost certainly not worth including. Self-released albums don't count. Mr Spunky Toffee 22:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

1999 WTO Niketown

It was Niketown. Sadly, I don't remember where I saw the photo. In the discussion, earlier today I added a link to a photo I found online of what are almost certainly the same guys (since there could hardly have been two separate times people were knocking down the letters on Niketown), but their shoes aren't visible. The other photo was taken from a higher angle. I don't know if it is online anywhere; it might well be on some anti-protestor blog.

So here are some words I seldom utter: you might try User:Morton devonshire. He clearly was opposed to the protestors, so there is a fair chance that if this photo is online (or even if it is only available in a print medium) he would know where to find it. - Jmabel | Talk 20:57, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Richard Kenney

Have you looked at this article? It truly is a mess, but it could (with a good deal of work) be something worthwhile. It has been tagged for speedy deletion as nonsense, which is unjustified, because the article is not unsalvagable. When I left the message on JenniferL 17's talkpage encouraging her to put up the "inuse" template, it was a gesture of patience and compassion for a newbie who seems to be struggling. At this point, though, the article is damn near worthless. There is little to no content about the author, and a great many quotes from critical responses to his work. Wikipedia, as I am sure you are aware is not a literary criticism site, nor should articles about authors consist of little more than quotations from critics. Are you willing to take a look and offer her some helpful criticism? I am certainly willing to help in the improvement of the article, assuming she is open to advice. Let me know what you think. Thanks for your response. Worry not that I expect you to go this alone, for I am certainly willing to do my part. Thanks, as well, for removing the speedy tag. I just placed a (rather long) message on the article's talk page saying that it was unjustified, and that I intended to remove it myself. You beat me to it. I am going to place some (fairly obvious) edit tags on the article (wikify, cleanup, etc.), and we will go from there. I saw that image, and it is definitely a problem. Unfortunately, I've never dealt with images before either. We need to make sure that both images are fair-use or that permission exists for them to be used. I was looking at it. There doesn't look like much information in the article. It now lists the previous and succeeding presidents and they are also very skimpy. (The Spanish wikipedia is linked but doesn't have much more on this person.) Sigh, it's rather outside my area of expertise. Thanks for looking at it. RJFJR 17:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
My skill with Spanish and Portugese is best described as poor, bad or non-existent. I don't think I can even find my bilingual dictionary. Now if it were German at least I own a good dictionary even if I have no vocabulary. Seems odd that there is nothing in English on the President of a substantial country. Thank you for looking. Proposal for managing song lists on Simpons episodes

Hi, hope you don't mind me posting to your userpage but I'm trying to collect opinion on a proposal relating to The Simpsons and, despite posting to various talk pages, I've had no feedback at all (except from a co-planner). I don't mind if all the opinion is negative (then I'll just forget the idea) but I'd like it to get some visibiltiy. I'm not going to go implement it unless the consensus is positive.

I'm proposing changing the way we manage lists of songs in episodes. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject The Simpsons/Proposal for managing song lists on Simpons episodes which has a full explanation of the proposal. Please leave comments there.

Being Bold re: The Seven Deadly Sins

Hi, I just wrote you a note on changes I made on your behalf re: the Seven Deadly Sins. I'm fairly new to all this too, but I tend to go ahead and make changes where I think they will improve the style, without necessarily starting a discussion first. And I was just looking at the style guide on a completely separate issues, and I came across this:

Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages This guideline in a nutshell: If you want to fix something, then do it instead of not doing anything because of your doubts.

So there we go. Hopefully that should give you more confidence to Be Bold. If you have a sensible idea for copyediting, do it! And I thought your suggestion for copy editing The Seven Deadly Sins was very sensible.

The primacy of Dr. Samuel Johnson versus the remaining field of Samuel Johnsons should be reconsidered. Ah, no. They were citing the episodes themselves - which also happen to have pages, which were also linked. The episodes themselves are acceptable primary sources (you can look at the simpsons and say 'Homer walked down a path' etc...). -Localzuk(talk) 23:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Craig Finn

You were putting him in the list of famous people from around the AREA or there briefly, which I think requires a much higher bar to clear than famous people from Minneapolis. You will note that your examples of Kimberly Elise and Dr. Demento are in the longer list of people from Minneapolis, and not the list that includes Ventura and Puckett. Your ListBotGen edits

Hiya, I see you started on Season 7 - well done :)

I think it's a good idea to put each tag on its own line - not quite sure if it matters, but probably safest to keep all the pages in a similar format.

Check out The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer for an example, and you can keep an eye on Wikipedia:WikiProject The Simpsons/Example generated lists/S07 to check your results.

You've probably noticed, it sometimes takes a while for the bot to keep up to your changes, so don't be too confused if it doesn't seem to fix your issue for a few mins.

Hiya - I was just looking at your problem with guest stars not appearing on the season 7 list page. It's very strange, I regenerated the page and the bot removed the guest stars on its first update again!
Actually under the heading 'directors' the alphabetical list is directors then the secioned list below it is guest starts - this makes no sense, I'll have to study the problem but it's probably a bot bug :(
BTW could you check out the edit I did to Bart on the Road which is at [1]. I put the tags on their own lines, and in a few places you missed the 'SourceEnd' tag (which may have confused the bot). If there's two runners, you don't need to give them a tag each, just tag the pair (as I've done) and I removed the '&' between them - the bot will spot that they're on different lines due to the <br> and take them as two entries which then get sorted correctly etc. You might want to check other pages too - perhaps the missing SourceEnd tag might cause the S07 list page to be missing the guest stars, tho not sure how --Mortice 23:39, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate your attention to a minor mistake made in my edit to the discussion on the Talk:Culturally_significant_phrases_from_The_Simpsons page. I'm sure that it was motivated by an undying need to ensure that all minor edits be marked as such, and nothing petty. I will now on remember to check the minor edit box when making changes that do not significantly impact the page, and vice versa. Simpsons talk

I responded on the Simpsons talk page about how to edit the secondary characters, specifically, whether to include episodes in which the characters play a substantial role in driving the plot. The feeling among the few people who have posted tends to be one of removing those sections. I think some discussion here would be worthwhile. --takethemud 02:56, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
