Can You protect Angel Locsin's article

Hello can you protect Angel Locsin's article again because i know that the article will be vandalize and vandalize again if many IP Address know that that it is not protected anymore. Thankyou SMXMaTT (talk) 00:35, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Unless if it's bombarded with vandals and/or fanboys messing up the article, then a protection isn't necessary yet... Blake Gripling (talk) 00:40, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm watching the article. Need to let it be unprotected for a bit to see what happens and need to see a reason to protect it again. --NrDg 00:44, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Multiple Sock Puppets of User:Gerald Gonzalez (Part 2)

To Blake Gripling:

He sent me also hate messages in YouTube. Another one, alleged sex scandal in his video. Then, Gerald also post a foul comment on my channel and said: His name is User:SBTVCAL and User:Ginacarmen that blocked me falsely. Unknownquinones (talk) 09:44, 2 June 2008 (UTC) Another one, his YouTube account also blocked me. Unknownquinones (talk) 13:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand the point of telling me this. All his known accounts, including the ones you mentioned, have already been blocked on the English wiki which is all that can be done here. What happens on other net locations might lead to blocks here, depending on what was said or done, but the blocks have already been done here for other reasons. --NrDg 16:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Pls. read the instructions to report the violations of NassJamesGoodLooking: (1. Register in YouTube) (2. If you have already an account but not activated, please go to your mail and confirm the e-mail address to be active) (3. Pls. go to NassJamesGoodLooking channel and report the image profile violation and his background graphic also, also flag all of his videos for any reasons). If you report his violations, I will give you a barnstar. Thanks! Unknownquinones (talk) 17:58, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I am unable do anything about stuff that happens outside of the English Wiki. YouTube is not a part of that. --NrDg 03:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I think User:203.177.240.215 is a sock of him. He seemed to act like him, and his style of POV-pushing looks as though he's doing it... Blake Gripling (talk) 03:15, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

It is suspicious. He just can't seem to leave the Angel Locsin article alone. I'm not certain though, so don't want to block right now. --NrDg 03:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Went over edit history - it is definitely Gerald Gonzalez. --NrDg 03:32, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. His style of arguing over article editing issues seems to fit the criteria for a typical Gerald sock... Blake Gripling (talk) 04:15, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Also watch out for any IP edits in the ranges 203.177.*.* (203.177.0.0/16) and 222.127.*.* (222.127.0.0/16) on Gerald's normal targets. I've been going over a bunch of them and see the familiar pattern. --NrDg 04:19, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
The 203.177.x.x and 222.127.x.x range is from Globe Telecom, so be careful when blocking them. I have a Globe cellphone prepaid subscription, and I'm using that range. Blocking the range as a whole might start a string of false positives, so a selective block is necessary. Blake Gripling (talk) 04:22, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
I'd never block a /16 range - too much impact on the non-involved although it can be blocked in a way that lets registered users edit. It is just part of a pattern to look out for. Being in that range AND editing certain articles is just suspicious. --NrDg 04:31, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
I see in ip-adress.com, that IP address User:203.177.240.215 is located in Cebu City. Unknownquinones (talk) 03:07, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
He created another sock: User:Superstar 1325. This time, he's redirecting several articles related to Marian Rivera. -Danngarcia (talk) 10:49, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
NrDg, my talk page has been vandalized again by the IP address used by Gerald Gonzales. Unknownquinones (talk) 13:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, unfortunately only one of many he uses. --NrDg 13:34, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

NrDg, Gerald creates another account in the other community of wiki called OrbiterWiki. Please, report to the administrator of that community to block Gerald Gonzales for editing permanently. Thank you! Unknownquinones (talk) 13:27, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not a member of that wiki. If you are, follow whatever procedures they have in place to handle disruptive users. It might be usefull to point to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Gerald_Gonzalez on the English Wikipedia to give them background. --NrDg 13:34, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
But, he vandalized many articles especially the user administrator on that community, look, http://www.orbiterwiki.org/wiki/User:Urwumpe. Unknownquinones (talk) 13:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
I am only a member of the English Wikipedia. Other wikis have their own rules and procedures that are different from the English Wikipedia. Please follow the rules for that other wiki to report a disruptive user - I can't as I am not a member. --NrDg 15:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

You can contact Gerald Gonzales to his cellphone but unknown provider like Smart: <private info removed> Unknownquinones (talk) 14:01, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

So can you and please don't post private personal info about other people (or yourself for that matter). My only role is to protect the integrity of the English Wikipedia and I strongly doubt that a conversation outside the communication mechanisms already in place here would further that goal. --NrDg 15:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Great work!

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Keep up the great work of keeping the vandals at bay. Your work here is greatly appreciated! Tiggerjay (talk) 07:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks.--NrDg 13:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Please check this out!

http://justjared.buzznet.com/tags/vanessa-hudgens/ http://justjared.buzznet.com/tags/zac-efron/ please just take a look at these

here are the links showing pictures of them together, holding hands, and kissing. Scroll down from the top and it has them at the MTV movie awards, JAZZ game and other places. That should be plenty of proof to change it to "currently" in a relationship with vanessa hudgens. You can go to the main site just so you can see that its not a phony one or anything. If thats not enough proof, she was seeing giving him a kiss as soon as he won best breakthrough performance at the MTV movie awards the other night, thanks!!!

i was just hoping it to change to currently dating, because if you check more than the first set of pictures and articles, you can tell they are together, sorry to be nagging it just seems to be enough evidence —Preceding unsigned comment added by 07lwcayce (talkcontribs) 02:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Replied on Talk:Zac Efron. --NrDg 03:07, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Woah, looks like we have a stubborn POV-pushing vandal here...

Ugh, when will this Gerald Gonzalez nimwit stop from bugging us? Blake Gripling (talk) 01:36, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

He's been at it since at least Dec 30, don't expect him to stop any time soon. I do wish he would find another hobby. --NrDg 02:19, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, like do something more productive than being a foolishly obsessed fan of Filipina actresses - "fanboys have a hard time being neutral..." - ROFL LOLZOR! Blake Gripling (talk) 02:53, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Can you delete this page?

OK, so user GMA Divo spawned the article Dragon Ball Z: Anime Designer; which obviously qualifies under speedy deletion, as it's in another language, and is obviously unencyclopedic... God Bless and have a nice day... Blake Gripling (talk) 00:38, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I see by the red link above that it has already been taken care of. --NrDg 01:54, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

sorry

sorry about the pics 4 Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez, i was trying 2 help, so i dont want u 2 think i was vanidlising(sorry cant spell) Meliss402 (talk) 14:13, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

It wasn't your fault as you relied on the image information which was false. I removed the warning message as your edits were in good faith. --NrDg 14:16, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

ok thanks! next time i'll double check the picture info before i post =) Meliss402 (talk) 21:05, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 additions

Even w/ the article deleted, that anonymous IP keeps trying to add it back. Might it be possible to have the Template:Alvin and the Chipmunks‎ locked from new users edits? That template looks to have all the required info and not really need any updating. Also, can a range block be done on the IPs? They all seem to start with 98.30. Just some random thoughts, as I don't think we want to keep up this low-level, but constant, edit war. Anyhow, thanks and good night. :) --Ebyabe (talk) 01:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Protected for a while. Guy is on a dynamic IP so blocks unlikely to work.--NrDg 01:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Range block would be too large on a /16 range - too many people would be effected. --NrDg 02:36, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Rico (Hannah Montana) Page Being Deleted

Thank you for being so nice to me about this, but I see many good reasons why the Rico page shouldn't have been deleted.

1. Obviously you don't watch "Hannah Montana", because if you did, you would realize the importance of a Rico page.

2. You seriously don't think I was gonna' add more things to the page the next day?

3. I'm sorry about the Miley's information appearing in Rico's box once, but don't you make simple mistakes like this too.

4. Just give people time, and they will look at the Rico page.

5. I put the TV stub sign on the page, so of course it's short.

This is the second time I made this page, and I don't want to have to make it again. All I'm asking for is a second chance —Preceding unsigned comment added by PsychoSchuyler (talkcontribs) 13:12, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

There used to be a Rico page. Someone nominated the page for deletion using the article for deletion (See WP:AFD) process. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rico (Hannah Montana) for a record of the discussion about this and the conclusion reached. This is a formal wikipedia process. I disagreed, see my comments on the AfD page, but the consensus was to redirect to the main article and I am obligated to to follow the consensus. The proper procedure if you want the page back is to propose its creation on the talk:Rico (Hannah Montana) and talk:Hannah Montana pages and see if consensus has changed. Most of the existing character pages are on shakey grounds already. See the Rico AfD discussion for a lot of pointers to the reasons. --NrDg 13:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Also note, that nothing has been deleted. If you go over the edit history of the page, all the old versions are still there. It is not really necessary to recreate the page from scratch if the result of the discussions is to resurrect the page. --NrDg 13:44, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, and I was the one that made it before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PsychoSchuyler (talkcontribs) 14:01, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

I added a note on the talk:Hannah Montana page as well. --NrDg 15:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

I do not wish to edit war with you,but if you say that this song is only 1 genre, then you've clearly never listened to it. ILikeMusicaLot (talk) 17:57, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

It is a classification issue. Pick the best match and don't make a list. I can see two at most for most singles. 3 is pushing it too far. I would prefer to see genres justified like any other thing, with references to sources, charts, reviews. Too many singles get a list because individuals keep adding their own evaluations and a lot of times they conflict. Some genres have subgenres and others genres are combos. Try to find the best match before creating a genre list. Dance Pop is a combo genre that best matches the song as you described it. I could support one more modifier to that. --NrDg 18:05, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Um, that wasn't vandilism. That's true information. Kind of common sense also. It's obviously a pop song, with some dance-pop elements in the beat. And that beat comes from a major hip hop producer who also supplies a RAP verse. So it has hip hop elements in the first verse and also in the beat. El Cangri386 01:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
It's a single, as stated above the genre dance pop is a good match and is a subgenre of pop. Dance pop is pop so pop is not necessary in the description. I can see one more genre modifier. 3 genres to describe a single is excessive, and in this case not necessary. Contemporary R&B as a modifier is reasonable. --NrDg 03:22, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Ashley Tisdale's articles vandalism

Please, help to controlate the vandalism in articles as Headstrong, Be Good to Me, He Said She Said, Not Like That, Suddenly by IntoCreativeJan, FortyFootEcho, GimmeLuna and this IP 86.135.27.42. It is suspected that this user has used one or more accounts abusively, obviously with the intention of vandalism in this articles. Triping 14:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

What's up? You do not want to do anything in the matter? The vandalism on the part of this user with multiple accounts is very obvious. please of that other one forms you want that it explains it to you? Triping 18:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I have been watching this article. Content that was removed was for a good cause as in information removed because references were attached that don't support the facts referenced. What I see now is edit warring. I don't see any abusive editing by multiple socks, but I do see independent editors working on the article. A massive revert that ignores what others have done and does not address the issues raised appears to be WP:OWN. Suggest you all start a discussion on the discussion page about the issues and work to consensus with other interested editors. If this continues I will protect the article. --NrDg 18:09, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Excuse me bit there is a reason why they were removed, the infromation in those singles was innacurate. The chart positions in he said had about 50 persent not reference postions and the rest was referenced but the references did not mention the album. And that is a huge issue on those articles. Headstrong had references that did not even mention teh album and false information and teh singles had over 15 remixes that were removed and repeated text and un free images posted by socket puppets Dienaked and Fotesh teh so-called siblings. Dienkaed was blocked from wikipedia for posting false information and reverting work and i doubt that Triping isn't releated with Fotesh or Dienaked.Prepelos 14:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Discuss the issues on the article talk page. Disputed info removed because of poor or lacking references is generally OK to do. Other stuff looks like content dispute. --NrDg 18:09, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Image of Demi Lovato

That Image I put of Demi is the cover that's under "That's How You Know". Check it out. If it's being used by Wikipedia on one article, i think we can add it on another.Empezardesdecero1718 (talk) 19:45, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

If it is an image of an album cover it is only licensed and therefore allowed to be used in the article about the album only. You can't use it in a bio article as bio article images must be free-use. See WP:FUC --NrDg 20:20, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, NrDg.

CWii is deleted my user page also my talk page (1 ambox) because of WP:BITE. Please, reply me in my talk page and ask CWii in my talk page also. Thank you! Unknownquinones (talk) 05:46, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

I removed part of his userpage per WP:NOT. Thanks, CWii(Talk|Contribs) 14:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

@CWii,

Talk to NrDg and make him/her decision because he/she is the one of the thousands of administrators in Wikipedia whether your edits reverted or still the revision. Unknownquinones (talk) 09:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I notice that on May 14 you added a redirect from him to his band, and that you protected the redirect. He has become much more notable in the past month since his band now has a hit song. I kept hearing his name on local radio and national countdowns, so I decided to write an article which you can currently find at User:Royalbroil/Sandbox. I found articles on him (not the band) in several major media outlets (newspapers and music websites). I think he now meets notability criteria. The article has quite a bit of information about him that is not included in the band's article and it doesn't belong there. Would you object if I were to bring this article from my sandbox into mainspace? Royalbroil 04:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

If you believe that he meets individual notability, I have no problem with article creation. I have unprotected the page. You may wish to look over the previous deleted edits to see if there is anything usable there. --NrDg 12:48, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I do believe that he is notable, and that he's rapidly becoming more notable. I did look in the deleted edits as I was working on the article. Most prior versions were one or two sentences long. Royalbroil 13:40, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

User Michaelsbll

Hi. I noticed you posted a generic warning on this user's talk page. I've been concerned for some time because of a considerable number of problematic edits made by the user relating to basic factual information, such as dates and place names. (A random sampling of his or her contributions suggests that there are also lots of legitimate edits.) Please see this old version of the user's talk page, which includes a comment I posted about the matter: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Michaelsbll&oldid=189912364 . He or she blanked the page soon after, but I just wanted you to know there's a history there. Rivertorch (talk) 05:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

User:Coolnes99

Keeps vandalizing the Kelly Ripa article, by removing main image. User has been warned three times now about the removal. Flyer22 (talk) 18:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

He removed the image after your third warning. I reverted and issued a final warning. --NrDg 18:54, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. I don't know if it's a coincidence that we had one user named Coolness99 and now another named Coolnes99 (you know, minus one s), but I'm not too tempted to look into that. If Coolnes99 was a huge problematic editor, I would.
Anyway, thanks again. There's a high chance he (or she) will try to remove it again, but you're probably watching out for that, just like I am. Flyer22 (talk) 19:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Yep, needs to be blocked. Flyer22 (talk) 00:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

I think it should be deleted, I created it with a purpose that I might find more info later on but I guess not the article should be created when there is more info out for the fim thank you and best wishes to all Salcan (talk) 19:01, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

We pretty much have to wait for the AfD process to come to completion before we can do anything to the article. The AfD process is good do do as it gives a lot of people a chance to comment and any decision to delete or redirect will be on much firmer grounds than if we just do it now. --NrDg 22:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Typhoon Fengshen (Frank)

Hi, NrDg.

Why does the main page of Wikipedia in the news about the typhoon is at least 20 people died, it must be more than 200 people died? Can you edit the latest news, I can't because it is protected? If you want to reply, go to my talk page. Thanks! Unknownquinones (talk) 12:48, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Check http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Main_Page. --NrDg 13:41, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, the latest update in Wikipedia is updated, ok. Unknownquinones (talk) 17:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

big misunderstnading

Syesha124, Lovato45, DemiLovato15, Maddy24, and Kristy22 are not sock accounts! Each of the accounts that I mentioned are used by different people that share the same IP address! I should know! Each of these accounts belong to different people in my family and people that I know! Syesha124 is my cousin, Lovato45 is my brother, DemiLovato15 is my sister, Maddy24 is my other cousin, and Kristy22 is my best friend. She comes over to use my computer sometimes because her computer is currently broken at the moment and she really can't afford to buy another one right now. So my family and I(including Kristy22 for now) all use the same computer and same IP address. 76.118.87.126 (talk) 16:28, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
