File permission problem with File:Dr.E.M.Wijerama.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dr.E.M.Wijerama.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 02:31, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

YOUR EDIT
[edit]This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you vandalise Mukkulathor page or any other wiki articles, you will be blocked from editing.Rajkris (talk) 19:31, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Caste sanctions
[edit]Hi, I realise that you must be getting fed up of the notices appearing on this page regarding the various caste articles that you are editing, such as Mukkulathor. I am sorry about that but Wikipedia requires that almost all statements in the articles that it shows are verifiable by referencing reliable sources. It is insufficient just to write what you think to be true based on, say, your own experience. It is better that our articles say less and are authoritative than that they say a lot but have no means of being checked.
You are welcome to contribute verifiable information and there are processes available when disputes arise regarding such issues as verifiability, the first of which would be to attempt a discussion on the talk page for the relevant article. However, you also perhaps need to be informed that caste articles have proved to be so problematic on Wikipedia that they have been made the subject of special sanctions, which enable us to get a grip of awkward situations in a less time-consuming manner than might normally be the case. I'd be very pleased to see useful contributions to these articles but, for the avoidance of doubt, please could you familiarise yourself with the notice below. Thanks.--2.219.218.79 (talk) 02:09, 16 February 2013 (UTC) (I am Sitush, currently working away from home - apologies for not being able to sign my note properly)
February 2013
[edit]Hello, I'm MelbourneStar. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mukkulathor, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —MelbourneStar☆talk 07:19, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]PRASATIS, if you add unsourced information to articles again, I'm going to have to block you for contentious editing on articles under discretionary sanctions, as Sitush explained above. If you have questions, please ask, but you cannot just try to force your ideas into Wikipedia, and you can't add unverified info. Qwyrxian (talk) 07:37, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Talkback

Possibly unfree File:AN OLD PHOTO OF SIR ERNEST DE SILVA.jpg
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:AN OLD PHOTO OF SIR ERNEST DE SILVA.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 14:18, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
The file File:SALAGAMA NAMBUDIRI FLAG.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
resolution is too low to be educationally useful; not used anywhere
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ixfd64 (talk) 17:01, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
