Unclosing the two NSW regional stubs discussions

[edit]

I hope you don't mind, but I've re-opened those two discussions, since in the one case, I started replying to a comment before noticing it'd been closed (pesky failure to refresh), and in the other, you closed it as "merge", which doesn't even seem to be possible (short of deleting the existing templates, which wouldn't be a matter for /P). Hopefully I'm done now, though perhaps leave it open in case someone wishes to re-reply... Alai 02:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Timbuctoo/Easy Peasy People

[edit]

Hi there,

I notice in this edit you claim that "Easy Peasy People" is another name for Timbuctoo. I've questioned this at the Timbuctoo talk page. Hope you can contribute there! Fourohfour 19:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey do you have any episode on Room 401 on your computer? I only have the first episode and need the rest. Thanks! 19:58, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Curt1s28

Cosmic Serpent

[edit]

Hi. I don't have a problem with your sorting of The Cosmic Serpent as a science stub, the thing is, if you see Talk:The Cosmic Serpent you'll get a sense of the problem. Yes, the publisher categorizes the book as "Science/Anthropology", but if you actually read the book and read what the author says about it in addition to his critics, you'll realize that this is not a science book; it exists outside the scope of science at this time. I'm guessing the people at the publishing company who categorize books aren't too concerned with these things; they just want to be able to slap a category on the cover and collect their paycheck. :-) —Viriditas | Talk 22:03, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for resorting. I'll try and expand the stub and remove the need for the tag asap. —Viriditas | Talk 22:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for fixing the stub - I didn't have a clue what to do with it. I originally set it as a PERSON's biography before someone changed it to the generic book one, then you clarified it to a specific book type. I had so little clue :-) Lethe 18:26, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:GuardianOTHorizon.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GuardianOTHorizon.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:32, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like User:After Midnight removed the disupted use tag. I added Non-free use rationale template. I also found publishers current front cover image which is different and thought it may interest you. Best regards. Conrad T. Pino 04:15, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My toolbar

[edit]

I definitely don't mind the tinkering, but putting it at 100% makes it hang off the page on my display. Normally, I'm very aware of the differences in how people view the net, but since I have to look at it most often, I'm going to revert it. No harm, no fowl. —  MusicMaker5376 17:40, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe. I stole the design from another editor and, undoubtedly, someone will steal it from you.... 'Tis the GFDL way.... —  MusicMaker5376 21:46, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with "stubclass"

[edit]

Thanks for the 'heads-up' on that. It actually appears to be a problem with the {{stubclass}} template (which must be included by a bot that places these on talk pages). It is supposed to transclude [[Category:{{{category}}}|Article title]] with the piped category being the article title and not the talk page. The "|category=Book stubs" line of the template (which is not optional) is supposed to create the category of [[Category:Book stubs|Article name]] but for some reason did not include the piped inclusion. I have left a message at the talk page for the template & will contact the designer & others to see what the problem was/is. SkierRMH 00:44, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub-sorting bug

[edit]

Hello. This is to report a bug in your stub-sorting bot or process. On this recent diff, you have changed

{{DEFAULTSORT:Yas<!--LATIN s FOR SORTKEY-->ar, Necdet}}

to

{{DEFAULTSORT:Yasar, Necdet}}<!--LATIN s FOR SORTKEY-->

It's not a huge problem, but it's not an improvement either. DEFAULTSORT completely ignores an embedded HTML comment, so there is no need to remove it from the sortkey. And the very topical comments prevent tons of good faith edits from people thinking they'll do us a favor by fixing our sortkeys, such as "Yasar" to "Yaşar", etc. Experience shows that a hands-on HTML comment right next to the letter-not-to-be-fixed works better than a remote, external HTML comment.

Which is why it'd be better if your stub-sorting process wouldn't change them. Is that possible? — Komusou talk @ 00:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey fellow Wikipedian! Your username is listed on the WikiProject Films participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:FILM editor, please add your name to the Active Members list. You may also wish to add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. We also have several task forces that you may be interested in joining as well.

Also, elections for Project Coordinators are currently in sign-up phase. If you would be interested in running, or would like to ask questions of the candidates, please take a look. You can see more information on the positions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Coordinators. Thanks and happy editing!

[edit]

Thanks for the barnstar! You'er probably right about the vacation... sadly, there's not a lot I can do about my dodgy memory, so there are bound to be the odd case wher I bring up an "unproposed' type that was proposed and supported. As to the exhibition, the opening went well, now I've just got to wait for reviews and (hopefully) sales. Grutness...wha? 00:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Stranger

[edit]

re: Patriots_Reign

What's a "| oclc =" in ({{Infobox Book}}) field? And is ISBN given as "| isbn = 0060757949 " correct or best format?

OIC, on the OCLC... someone needs to provide better notes on that template! Well... HI, anyway... and the ISBN? Cheers (from mostly much missing) // FrankB 19:09, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Missing your nuttiness... Her Pegship (tis herself) 19:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whaaaa? Who? Me???? Harumph! // FrankB 19:24, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks you sneaky stub sorter, you! Just noticed! Also had the wrong title (No 's') and am pulling hair out trying to figure out how to write this one. This is one of the most unique books and best reads of my life, but... the subject matter is hard to describe w/o repeating the contents! Has there been some fair use change so that we can't use book cover images, or is that mess on my talk all pro-forma with an over-active bot that can't read? Thanks! I'm about ready for beddy bye. // FrankB 04:41, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
