[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:IEEE Journal of Microwaves, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Peterhsiegel. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:IEEE Journal of Microwaves, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Randykitty (talk) 15:51, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
Randy: Thank you for pointing this out. I was trying to conform to the rules about declaring the conflict, but likely have not done this properly. I will try to do so formally soon. In the meantime I just want to know if in this particular case, there is any leeway. As the Editor-in-Chief and founder of this particular journal under IEEE, I am likely the best person to contribute the content of the Wikipedia entry. I am aware of the need to keep the entry free from advertising or any self serving motives. If absolutely necessary I can try to find someone else to do the write up, but they would still need to get most of the details from me. Given my involvement as the editor, I am still hoping I can contribute, so long as the entry is scriutinized for the COI. I am not compensated in any way for participation in the journal. Peter Siegel — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.215.249.41 (talk) 14:45, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
- An article about the journal would be best written by anyone apart from you, we would need zero details from you, as Wikipedia articles are based solely on what reliable independent sources have written about a topic. Theroadislong (talk) 22:49, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Okay. I will see if I can get an independent person in IEEE pubs to write it. Thanks. 66.214.190.49 (talk) 22:55, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- PLEASE don't do that, they would not be independent either, when your journal becomes notable someone unconnected with it will notice and create an article. Theroadislong (talk) 08:43, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Anyone with a conflict of interest must avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your family or colleagues, your organization or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
Note that you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Even if you are not being paid, you are expected to disclose any close connection with the subject of the article, using the connected contributor template.
For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you.
