If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Laurent Gervereau, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — further, Francophonie&Androphilie sayeth naught (Je vous invite à me parler) 07:46, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Plurofuturo, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please remember to disclose these connections. Meters (talk) 20:01, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Laurent Gervereau has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. — further, Francophonie&Androphilie sayeth naught (Je vous invite à me parler) 10:22, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I had never encountered your edits before you sent me this message. The person who reverted your edit to Art was SFK2. Graham87 14:43, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, we are French students. Our English is not very good. We are trying to put some elements on wikipedia about Laurent Gervereau. He is a specialist of images, artist, novelist, philosopher... He had works in many subjects. We just would like to put some elements in thoses subjects and if the wikipedia community wants to know more, they may have a look to his websites, movies or books

We don't want to just "redo" what is deleted. But it is not normal for wiki to have no elements at all about these works, this is not scientific. Could you help us ?

Many thanks

Your comment above: we are French students is problematic. Please read WP:NOSHARE, as the rule is one account: one user. Separate accounts need to be created for each individual. In addition, please supply WP:reliable sources to support your edits. I see your addition to philosophy has been removed (by another user) as undue weight, but it also was unsourced. Thanks, Vsmith (talk) 19:03, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THanks for this. It is the beginning on wikipedia and also in English. The part about Laurent Gervereau is sourced : Laurent Gervereau, "Pour une philosophie de la relativité", Paris, plurofuturo, 2010 (ISBN 978-2-919331-02-4) and his official website : www.gervereau.com. It should be interested for wiki members to have this information about "philosophy of relativity". I would like to have some help to put back some information. Many thanks

plurofuturoPlurofuturo (talk) 21:31, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't find much about the book. Is it only an e-book? Also the publishing details above: Paris, plurofuturo, 2010 are cause for concerns as that plurofuturo is also your username, and that would indicate a conflict of interest regarding your edits here. If you ae in any way associated with the book or its publisher, you should not be promoting it here by including it as a reference for edits. This may also apply to your editing of Laurent Gervereau. Vsmith (talk) 04:33, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Addenda: Sorry, but I don't read (or speak) French (well...picked up a few phrases in Nam, but...) so I can't help with any translation work. Vsmith (talk) 04:41, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Translation for other editors: "Sorry, Plurofuturo, I keep on reminding myself to take a look at your article, and keep on forgetting. I really have to get around to it, but for the moment, I think it's more important to talk about what Vsmith is saying. Do you understand what he's said so far, or would you prefer that I translate it for you?")
 — Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 07:41, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I answer to both of you, many thanks. First, there is no conflict of interest, we are students and I took the name because I felt it was funny regardind Gervereau's theories. THe book "Philosophie de la relativité" is in fact published on www.gervereau.com (as you may see it) and available on it since 2010 (with lulu.com), it is officially registered in the Bibliothèque nationale de France and is an important book.

Generally, we feel quite strange that wikipedia in English ignores important aspects of non English speaking other countries. So that is why we begin to try to improve it.

Well, for the example of Laurent Gervereau, I heard what you said both of you. So, I will write some short words only for 4 subjects (we could take for him literature, Art, politics, cinema, photography...) with references : political ecology, history of art, image, philosophy

Then, please help me Francophonie & Androphilie to read it and to put it in a better English

Many thanks

— Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 08:53, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Francophonie & Androphilie for this. Vsmith, there is only me now on Plurofuturo. My friends have open counts.

All the best

Visual Culture

[edit]

This was a very difficult work for me. I am a French student. It is useful page. But could Francophilie&Androphilie have a look to write it in a better way ? That would be great. Many thanks.
