COSMIC
[edit]Hi. I've nominated COSMIC cancer database, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article here, where you can improve it if you see fit. Rockpocket 17:39, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- FYI, the COSMIC DYK will be on the front page on 10th September between 1 and 7pm. Well done. Rockpocket 12:23, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Excellent :o) --RE73 (talk) 15:30, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nkx2-2as is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nkx2-2as until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Wilbysuffolk (talk) 11:43, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Template
[edit]Hello Ruth, thanks for pointing out that {{EC number}} was in need of updating. You are correct that I built the template in 2005 (seems ages ago). It is used by at least 3000 articles! I don't write much about biochemistry anymore...
Have you considered joining WikiProject Molecular and Cellular Biology? It is a very active project with a large number of articles under its scope. It seems your expertise may be welcomed! JFW | T@lk 10:09, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
[edit]At Crusio's request, considering the number of high quality articles you have started, I've given you the WP:Autopatrolled user right. Your new pages will be automatically maked as patrolled in the New Pages list; they will not have to be reviewed. Colleague, keep up the good work ! DGG ( talk ) 19:29, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you :) --RE73 (talk) 06:59, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

For gamely ploughing through what seems to be the entire catalogue of glycoside hydrolase families. I know precious little about biochemistry, but I recognise hard work when I see it. Yunshui (talk) 13:29, 3 October 2011 (UTC) |

New Page Patrol survey
[edit]
New page patrol – Survey Invitation Hello RE73! The WMF is currently developing new tools to make new page patrolling much easier. Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.
Please click HERE to take part. You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey. Global message delivery 12:54, 26 October 2011 (UTC) |

Protein families
[edit]What to do with protein complexes that consist of multiple subunits? Make a separate page for each subunit? Perhaps we should try but be sure that we follow WP:Notability. Having many boxes (for each subunit) on the same page (for the complex) does not look good. Do this? What do you think? My very best wishes (talk) 04:57, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- PF10409 ([1]) should be included in clan CL0154 (C2 domain). This is actually another question. Having this clan, should we have an "umbrella" article about all C2 domains (as a superfamily/clan) and subarticles about each family? Apparently yes... My very best wishes (talk) 05:45, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- There are several cases when several PFAM families may belong to the same superfamily/clan, but they were not classified as such in Pfam: [2], [3], [4], [5],[6],[7]. This probably should be fixed. ABC transporters maybe a more complicated case. My very best wishes (talk) 14:49, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- There are also many cases when proteins are simply not linked to Pfam, like Carnocyclin A (look here), but those are more difficult to count. My very best wishes (talk) 15:01, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Further reading
[edit]Good job keeping the reference/readings for RNAs up to date. I think this is very important! --Paul (talk) 22:42, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! It is a shame I don't have the time to add anything to the articles from these references. --RE73 (talk) 07:40, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
