Previous account(s)?

Hello, Asperthrow,

What previous accounts did you edit Wikipedia with? It's very unusual for accounts that have only been active for a few days to know how to tag pages for deletion and quote policy on appropriate sourcing in articles. Thanks for being forthcoming. Liz Read! Talk! 03:08, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

I have not but IIRC I have edited without an account before. Does this count? Because I can’t remember the IP Asperthrow (talk) 03:38, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Keir Starmer talk page discussion

Just an FYI, there is a discussion already underway at Talk:Keir Starmer#Loss of balance. Please refrain from removing sourced content without discussion. Kkollaps (talk) 22:06, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Starmer discussion

Hi, I saw you contributed this below on the Starmer talk page discussion:

"You should have asked whether or not your edits had support when you made significant changes to the article. In fact, if you’d like to make such big changes to a significant article, your edits really should not be in place while it’s being discussed. Not the other way around. These are big changes which need to be discussed first."

Would you suggest deleting the recent additions for now until a consensus is reached in the talk page? They seem like very poor/biased additions to me personally. Michaeldble (talk) 18:27, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Yes. I’d agree with that. Asperthrow (talk) 03:14, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Ron DeSantis Campaign and WP:CRYSTALBALL

I'm not going to add it back, since the speculated date is tomorrow (or today if you're using IST), but I did want to raise an objection to your use of WP:CRYSTALBALL in reverting a line about an anonymous source stating Ron DeSantis's plan to announce his candidacy on a future date. WP:CRYSTALBALL isn't a blanket ban on leaked or expected announcements, per it's first point: "Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place". "Leaks" like these are not rumors, especially within the context of candidacy announcements - they are essentially the sources of the "Potential Candidates" subheader found on presidential election articles, and if they are from a reliable source they can very well be suitable for inclusion. Also see the Ron DeSantis 2024 presidential campaign page, as it at this point is highly dependent on this expected announcement. I do, however, commend your vigilance on political articles - they need it more than most. Best, /Tpdwkouaa (talk) 01:20, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Asperthrow, since you have adjusted the lede in the interests of making Ron DeSantis 2024 presidential campaign clearer to non-Americans, I was wondering if you are planning to do the same for all of the campaign articles. BD2412 T 03:02, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Why? Asperthrow (talk) 03:06, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Is there any reason that these articles should be inconsistent in terms of their ledes? If you are not planning on editing the others accordingly, I would be inclined to return this one to consistency with the others. BD2412 T 03:08, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Sounds like WP:OTHERSTUFF. What is written on other candidacy articles has no relation to the one I edited. Asperthrow (talk) 03:11, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
I see. Since these edits are not needed for candidacy articles generally, I will restore the previous wording to this one. BD2412 T 21:30, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
It’s preferable if we discuss that on the article talk page, so I’ll revert again. I see you’ve switched to saying it’s “not needed”.
18 years of editing and this is how you behave? Asperthrow (talk) 03:10, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
Your reversion is a 1RR violation for a page in an Arbcom-designated topic area. We can discuss, but you need to restore the original wording first. BD2412 T 04:31, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Interstatefive. Your recent edit to Twitter, Inc. appears to have added incorrect information, so I removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. interstatefive  03:56, 25 May 2023 (UTC)

The article itself states the company is defunct. There was nothing wrong whatsoever about my edit. Asperthrow (talk) 03:57, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
trout Self-trout Wow, I really need to be more careful with Huggle. interstatefive  04:09, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
