(duplicated from my talk page, because I'm really wanting you to get this.) I'm so sorry to hear that. :( This is a huge issue, and the community needs to settle it as quickly as possible. I think we can ill-afford to lose you, and I really hope you'll change your mind. Even if you don't want to wade into helping fix this community-wide problem (which I understand), I think that "best possible outcome" includes your continued presence when it's over. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:15, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Help

Hi, I have been trying to post File:The Hate List.jpg to the page The Hate List. I just can't seem to get it to post though. Could you help me by putting the picture in the infobox? Samus Fan102 (talk) 02:35, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Sorry you're leaving

I'm sorry to read that you've decided to leave us. I know I've said it before but I think you've made some great contributions to Wikipedia, and you will be missed. Perhaps one day you may come back, but in the meantime best of luck in your endeavours and for the future. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:00, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for Chaplin!

I'll see if we can use it to help rehabilitate the CBS article. A question for you, We hope: is it the attachments on the backs of these CBS promo photos (like the Honeymooners ones) that qualifies them for the {PD-pre-1978} template? I'm certain that Bing and Jack and Edward/Bill and John G photos were never copyrighted — the whole objective was to get them picked up and published — but have no way to prove it (or to prove that the copyrights weren't renewed, which they surely were not). Whatta you think? Am I just bloodying my head to try and get 'em in as PD? Check your e-mail, btw... — HarringtonSmith (talk) 05:08, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Removed actual template; you don't need that big block clogging things up — HarringtonSmith (talk) 12:04, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Welcome back

Great to see you back again, and thanks for the award. It's nice to have something that's unique. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 11:48, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

No Power

Posting for We Hope. Not able to post as a storm has gone through the area and there is no power in the area and we will return as soon as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.94.72.1 (talk) 21:32, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

FURs

While I appreciate your efforts to save images nominated for deletion as lacking a FUR, please be careful. A quick look through your edits shows a few mistakes- File:Borneo-rainbow-toad.jpg does not have a rationale, and, concerning File:MausoleumBohemond.jpg, the Commons image is not the same photograph, so the speedy deletion tag you used is not appropriate. As for File:King George VI Coronation Medal.png and File:King George V Silver Jubilee Medal.png, you leave blank any discussion of possible replaceability- I have retagged them for deletion, as I am not seeing any evidence that the image is irreplaceable. J Milburn (talk) 16:54, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Further rooting turns up, for instance, File:Maurice cass.jpg and File:Maurice Gosfield.gif. Due to the age of the pictures, public domain content could potentially be found, and, in the latter case, at the very least a crop would be required. "Portion used" and "low resolution" need something more than just letters (and what they mean is not clear). Images don't magically become compliant with the NFCC when you place a template on the page. J Milburn (talk) 17:01, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that's my point. Just throwing a rationale template at the images and removing the deletion notice does not fix any problems- in fact, it often creates them. I know there's often a good guys "saving" images and bad guys deleting them mentality, but, often, if an image has been tagged for deletion, it should be deleted... Usually I remember to add the rationale, but this time I forgot. I love that image. It's like looking into the past through a nighttime neon glow. Pepso2 (talk) 23:43, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Back From Ashes band photo.jpg‎

Good morning! I placed this photo at Back From Ashes to depict the members of the band. There is no free equivalent that I am personally aware of, and this is a publicity photo indeed, as it is placed on Yvonne's World.--Jax 0677 (talk) 16:15, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

Archiving this user talk page?

This user talk page is getting long, and it would be a pain to search for older posts under a condition like this. I will have put {{archiveme}} on the top of this page for better emphasis and strategy of awareness. --Gh87 (talk) 07:00, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I have reverted your edits that do not seem vandalism; in fact, I have put in tweaks to help you archive your pages in a very clean way. MiszaBot can do the job for you, unless you want your page to be this way again. It will archive posts older than 30 days old, but you can adjust MiszaBot according to User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo, which you will use in the future. --Gh87 (talk) 22:29, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Proposed merger of American Akita and Akita Inu, would you like to comment?

Hi We hope, It is proposed that American Akita and Akita Inu be merged into Akita (dog), which currently is a redirect to Akita Inu. I had American Akita up for GA, which has been on hold for a while until we can get this merger resolved. I've made a proposal merged article, if the consensus decides that a merger would be better. It would be great if we could get this resolved, so far there has been little input for consensus to be reached. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the matter and would like to comment in the merger discussion? Cheers, Keetanii (talk) 02:35, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks We hope :) Keetanii (talk) 07:36, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Using a photo of Lucy-Desi maracha shoot

Now that many threads are archived, I can now discuss the photo and congratulate you for your efforts of photo usage and of proving its "public domain" status. Would it be all right if the photo is used in also I Love Lucy? --Gh87 (talk) 19:59, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Michael Mirdad photo

Thanks for your insights on how to best communicate the purpose of use and replaceability of File:Michael Mirdad 2009.png as well as for the robust outline of how to make contributions. :) I've provided the requested block, noting the relevant aspects of the non-free content policy and provided examples that may help. If further detail is needed or discussion with the artist suggested, let me know via my talk page. Sincerely Expertseries (talk) 17:02, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Replied to "Back again..." ww2censor (talk) 05:33, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

I chose promotional image, NOT poster, because the generic poster rationale is now too restrictive for film posters, containing the language:

to provide critical commentary on the film, event, etc. in question or of the poster itself, not solely for illustration

There was once a film poster rationale & license, but that has been expunged.

Shall I change the FUR to promotional image? and the license to match?

See Wikipedia:Use_rationale_examples#Film_poster_in_the_article_about_that_film for the source of my confusion and consternation about this. --Lexein (talk) 02:40, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Jo Stafford compilations

Hi again, hope all is going well with you. It's been suggested to me that some of the Jo Stafford compilations should be merge/redirected into a discography article as there are few sources for them. One or two were PRODded by someone, but I've reversed that, and in the interests of saving all the hard work I did, I'm thinking about creating an article a bit like this one. Let me know what you think. TheRetroGuy (talk) 19:27, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

ok, I'll go through them tomorrow and create the discography, and if you can re-add details for the one that was deleted that would be great. I've just found out how to {{subst}} articles so this should speed the process up a bit. I can copy the albums into one article then take out the additional stuff such as categories, and use some of the CMT pages as sources. I think I will need some help with the template as I'll have to redirect lots of pages to the appropriate part of the discography, so that could take a while. :) Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 20:17, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Discography

Hi. Just spent much of the afternoon merging the contents of articles into List of Jo Stafford compilation albums. I've been quite ruthless with them, merging all but the Jonathan and Darlene, V-Disc and Supper Club albums, plus one or two others. The resulting article is a bit cumbersome and keeps taking me to an error page whenever I save it (although it is saving). I may have gone over the top and you might think there are some others that can stand alone so please feel free to undo some of my redirects and tweak the main article if you think the originals were ok. Also feel free to add details for Something to Remember to the list. I think I'm going to take a break now and will come back to this some time tomorrow and do some more work on it. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 18:11, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Cheers for that. Must admit Vista drives me mad sometimes. I think XP was a far better operating system. I haven't used Windows 7 yet, but plan to buy an new PC in the next year or so, so should have a more up to date set up then.TheRetroGuy (talk) 18:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi again, just a heads up about the images. Someone's removed them all from the list so you might want to mark them for deletion before you get inundated with templates. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 21:49, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Bot problem

Thanks for your help! Most of the files I upload are PD-pre 1978 and have multiple versions. Having both sides and upcropped versions of them to me is proof that they don't have any copyright marks and fit free use criteria.

I will leave a note on Sree's user page here about the bot not transferring all of the file's information. Thanks again! We hope (talk) 17:50, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Re:Jo Stafford list

Yes please, I think most of them are in order, but if you can sort any out that aren't that would be fantastic. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:54, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Forgot to say earlier, good work on the template. TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:14, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Great work on the collapsable tables. I was having similar trouble with the page on Thursday in that it kept taking me to the error page whenever I saved. Interestingly though it was saving my changes, so not sure what's going on there. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 14:56, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Fantastic. TheRetroGuy (talk) 19:35, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Once again, great work with the list. I've been away for a couple of days so haven't had a chance to keep up with what's been happening, but it looks excellent now. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 13:55, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

New Jo Stafford albums

Great to see the new albums, thanks for creating the articles. Good work finding the AllMusic links too. I agree we should be able to restore some of the individual articles now. I didn't really want to merge them to be honest, but when they started being nominated for deletion I thought it was better to do that than to lose all the work that had gone into them. :) If you want to restore any then I'm happy for you to do that. Cheers. TheRetroGuy (talk) 10:12, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

That sounds like an excellent idea. I'll drop a note on his talk page. I might aalso open a discussion on this at the talk page of the article and perhaps generate a few more opinions. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 21:58, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
ok, I've started a discussion at the article's talk page. FWIW I actually agree with you, so hopefully we can get some consensus to restore a few. One I think that could go back is Capitol Collectors Series since it had been around for three years without issue. And there's almost certainly dozens of others that could return too. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:20, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
ok, thanks. I'll give it a couple of weeks and if nobody voices any serious objections I'll restore everything with a four or five star rating. TheRetroGuy (talk) 11:59, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
