Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Rosiesievers20 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one.

Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Helpme}} before the question.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and should be treated accordingly.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished!

Youtube videos

[edit]

I have filmed machinima in 2nd life. File:Machinima sample reindeer full size.ogg and File:CGI Machinima sample film.ogg. If you would like to have any custom ones filmed and uploaded there are some good machinima groups there that would probably do it for you. They need to be .ogg format for copyright purposes though.--Canoe1967 (talk) 10:59, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: A barnstar for you!

[edit]

You're welcome. If you have any questions about how to do anything, or what the policy is on anything, just ask, and I'll see what I can figure out. How's your class going? What's your next on-wiki assignment that's due? --Geniac (talk) 15:29, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats... You asked an awesome question in the Teahouse!

[edit]

Hey Rosie! Thanks for your effort to understand our policy on linking to youtube videos which you asked about at the Teahouse. As you heard, it's only ok to do if the content was uploaded by the Youtube account which owns/created it. That's for copyright reasons, because Wikipedia tries very hard not to link to copyright-infringing content. Please come by the Teahouse anytime with more great questions. We'd love to have you back :)

[edit]

Hi Rosiesievers20! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!

Good work

[edit]

Good work! Are you going to post them online or upload to Wikipedia? I still need more work on my music video. Like learning to write music.--Canoe1967 (talk) 17:15, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oops

[edit]

I'm still trying to work out how these talk pages work, I could never figure it out. I left a message for you on DanielleForrester1991's page, before I realised it wasn't yours which I had open in a different tab. I'm so confused. If you're still looking for a group I'd be happy to team up with you on Social Penetration theory. Which session are you attending tomorrow? (hopefully you'll see this, it's a little late now. I should really have done this earler...)Kaolincash (talk) 23:01, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Hello Rosie, I noticed on the page Social Penetration Theory that under the outcomes heading was a math problem code in use unnecessarily I considered the use of normal markup and changed it to suit, having deem that the math code gave no addition to the page, It also sorted the styling of the page regarding font. Update with Social Penetration Theory

[edit]

Hello Rosie,

Just a quick update as what I aim to do for the Social Penetration Onion representation; I plan to take the current information from the onion diagram from the Social penetration theory page & edit it together with an suitable onion image I found on the Wiki Commons page. The link to the onion I plan to use can be found here; https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/32/Onion_slice.jpg

Second Update for Onion Social Penetration Image & Metaphor

[edit]

Hello Rosie,

Just popping in to give another update for how my work is progressing! I've taken the information from 'Communication - A First Look at Communication Theory' by Em Griffin & the image of the Onion I attained through the Wiki Commons I previously linked and have blended the two together in a very simple visual representation for ease of understanding. Please let me know what you guys think! Cheers,

Hey Nick, very good on making the onion metaphor better! Although a suggestion on the number type face using a full black outline for each number will stand out more on any coloured background making it clearer when and if the image size is decreased. Nice one! Hope this helps some :)

LaurenOldroyd (talk) 10:53, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And my suggestion is that the words at the bottom have to be aligned as well. --Rosiesievers20 (talk) 10:54, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lauren & Rosie!

Thank you both for the suggestions! I will create a more refined version of the image and repost as soon as I have completed it!
