Darlington

[edit]

While some pages can be moved without discussion others like Darlington should be discussed first. Please see Wikipedia:Moving a page and Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 20:25, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello Ross, could you please make sure you leave an edit summary describing the changes you have made to an article and also try to leave references for the information you are adding in as verifiability is very important on Wikipedia. Thanks Fraggle81 (talk) 01:55, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited County Durham, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Easington (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edits

[edit]

If you want your edits to remain then find sources for them. For instance in County Durham you remove sources but add none. Or where you state that the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, the Humber Bridge and Sydney Harbour Bridge were all built in Darlington. I notice that others have been reverting your edits as well. You should slow down a bit and look at what you are entering. Look at the roads section in Darlington. There are two links to the A1(M) motorway but no links to other articles that may be of interest to the reader such as the Great North Road (Great Britain) or the Scotch Corner. And I just noticed that the next section starts "Darlington railway station" but again without a link. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 10:16, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Northern Echo

[edit]

Could you please stop moving The Northern Echo around without any consensus about where the article should go (you don't even seem to know yourself, having how moved it 4 times in a week) or whether it should even be moved at all. Please see discussion at its talk page. Thanks Pit-yacker (talk) 09:04, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Stockton-on-Tees1 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Correcting errors brought upon by user:DurhamEditor24 moving articles without discussing it first.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please see Wikipedia:IMAGE#Tutorials_and_help on how to add images. To prevent disruption of the article, remember to preview your changes before saving. There's a button next to the save button that reads "Show preview". More importantly, be careful not to remove content, like you did here when you removed the categories. File permission problem with File:Darlington Town Hall.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Darlington Town Hall.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:09, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Echo history sources

[edit]

Hi there, if I'm correct in contacting you, which I may not be, I just wanted to ask where I might be able to find some of the sources used but not listed in the bibliography for the "The Northern Echo" (Newspaper) Article, as I'm writing an essay on it for my university!

Thanks in advance,

T.

PS: I noticed you edited this article many times, so I thought you might be the person to ask! I also wrote to one or two other editors of the site; I am in a slight time crunch, and this thought I'd just ask! — Preceding unsigned comment added by The.history.student (talkcontribs) 12:46, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jamia Mosque and Islamic Society of Darlington is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamia Mosque and Islamic Society of Darlington until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Onel5969 TT me 11:22, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for identifying that the population was wrong. However, you removed a vital reference and broke the infobox. Please take more care when making your edits. Just Chilling (talk) 00:25, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted an undiscussed move, of this page, to Stockton-on-Tees, Co Durham. The existing title is a long-established title and, in my view, this is an unnecessary disambiguation. Please take proposed moves of such major pages to the article talk page, first. Thanks. Just Chilling (talk) 00:53, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
