Your draft article
[edit]Your draft article User:Rvplpr/sandbox will not be moved into main article space as it currently stands. Please read WP:N / WP:V / WP:RS and WP:NPOV and then apply them to your article. When you have the content of the article cited to reliable third party sources and the content is stated in a non promotional manner, then you can ask for someone to review your draft for moving into article space (you can use the {help me} as described in the welcome section above). -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:00, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Cary Lee Peterson article
[edit]You presumably looked up the information about Ms. Peterson in third-party reliable sources, but you didn't include citations or in-line references, so that we don't know what the sources were. That is the most obvious problem. A second problem is that your article appears to be promotional rather than neutral. That can be worked. Also, don't forum shop by raising the same issue (the non-acceptance of your article) in two places, such as the Teahouse (a reasonable place to ask) and WP:ANI (an unreasonable place to ask, since article acceptance is a content issue, not a conduct issue for admin action). Robert McClenon (talk) 22:16, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- one place to look for reliable third party sources is news.google.com if you ignore the blog hits, most of the other hits will be from acceptable sources. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 04:31, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
Guys- thanks so much for your input and support. The content that appeared to be promotional has been removed. The references have been made and final edits from my end. The only news articles mentioned were from Associated Press. Very new to submitting articles but I'm aware that a valid article must hold to strictly the facts and not hearsay or promotional material. Please help me get this article edited and listed for finalization. (Rvplpr (talk) 06:20, 3 October 2013 (UTC))
October 3, 2013 - The article was edited one last time. some minor modifications and proofing. It appears that the article is indeed ready. References and everything look well and its needing the help of an administrator at this point. Thanks [all] for your support on this matter.(Rvplpr (talk) 01:13, 4 October 2013 (UTC))
- Why do you need an admin? You don't need one to submit this userspace article to AFC. I would consider removing your "media" section however; the article really isn't a repository for Mr. Peterson's SEC filings, radio appearances, and minor mentions on the internet. 205.166.218.65 (talk) 21:45, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
October 4, 2013 - @User talk:205.166.218.65: Thanks so much for your response and remarks. I have to mention again I am new to this create, review, and submission process with Wiki articles.
"Media" section was an edit done by someone else. I am not sure who did this. The SEC filings that Peterson signed to as CEO to the company with the government contracts should not be considered "Media" content. They are public records and considered as press releases or interim reports with the US federal government to my knowledge. Would this not be considered a career achievements [Signing negotiating and signing these major contracts to aid climate change and human rights]? The radio interviews support the personal description of Mr. Peterson's career and efforts as a philanthropist that is helping America and Africa. I found several other news articles but they were either released by a public relations group hired by Peterson's associates or not published by a credible source as BBC or AP. I do not find the UN archives as "Media" content either. This appears to be records of activity more political. "Media" is a broad term. Whether it be a published article or government filing to the public I would assume they are all considered full disclosures, thus, considered as "media". Please add your suggestions for edits to make all of this content fall into the correct category. Thanks for all of you support and help with this article. (Rvplpr (talk) 02:07, 5 October 2013 (UTC))
- If you're going to have an article about this individual, the bad MUST be included, if it's properly sourced. Otherwise, non eed for the article. Wikipedia is not here to puff up a person ES&L 10:06, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
October 5, 2013 - What do you mean 'bad'? All factually data there is no 'bad', just neutral facts. I found 500 press articles and a handful of blogs. These are not facts. They are opinionated. The references on record are all facts. I'm trying to understand your posting. (Rvplpr (talk) 11:48, 5 October 2013 (UTC))
