Harvest Moon
MobyGames links
Hi.
Wikipedia:External_links specifically
- Sites that contain neutral and accurate material not already in the article. Ideally this content should be integrated into the Wikipedia article, then the link would remain as a reference.
- Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as textbooks or reviews.
My rationale is credits, extensive cover art and screenshots
I am using the {{moby game|id=<everything in the URL after "game">|name=<game title>}} created by one of the CVGP folks.
As always your opinions/comments are welcome. --Flipkin 03:37, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Table Favor
I saw the table edit you did for ApeXtreme. You changed the background colour. And I really like it, really suits the color etc
Anyway, can you do me a favor...
Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict, I want you to do the same...Change the Roster's background colour, font colour ect. Make it match...it doesn't have to be like the ApeXtreme's one
Just make it cool:P
Thanks:P
I think that the table is fine, for now the rest of the article needs attention. Lord Falcon 23:59, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

- I believe the problem is that most edit counters stopped working for en.wp since the server split about three months ago. We can still view the counts up until that moment, but since you were renamed, I believe the system is unable to retrieve the data, since the tool is not updating. Have you tried Interiot's javascript tool, or Flcelloguy's tool? If those also show no edits to your account, then you'd need to get a developer involved (use List users to find them and leave a message on their talk page, or email them). Answers.com
Hey there, saw you question on the help desk. Answers.com is pretty much just an aggregator; their Captain Falcon page is from our article (obviously) and from this AllGameGuide page. So is that AllGameGuide page a reliable source for the topic? Well, a little on the borderline, perhaps -- online material is questionable in general -- but it's probably all right... and least it claims sources and an author. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 02:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Source information?
what do you mean, what should i add to my picture for source information? - (Goatshi)
Bio Rex
I deleted the page Bio Rex. It was only a redirect to a list of F-Zero pilots, and the only links to it were from your userpage and the article Lasipalatsi, which linked to it accidentally - Bio Rex is also a movie theatre in Helsinki, Finland, predating F-Zero (or games consoles, for that matter) by several decades. Bio Rex the games character can stay at the list of F-Zero pilots. JIP | Talk 13:06, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Plagiarism
You can't plagiarize the biographies from AllGame guide as a direct copy and paste into Captain Falcon and a few other F-Zero racers. I have removed copyright violations from these articles. T Rex | talk 03:00, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Picture
i got it from a video on youtube that was taken of the game so it is a screen shot of the game, but i cropped it a little is that a problem? and sorry im sort of a noob to wiki Goatshi
Hey I did a little cleanup to GX, and I found a couple places that you need a citation. If you can cite it with refs already in the article but don't know how, I'll tell you. Otherwise, good luck.--Clyde Miller 04:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Regarding Zelda
Well my best guess would be that there are no references because they didn't have any orginal research, but that still is a little weird. You might consider going to featured article review on those grounds or take a look at wind waker's old one and see what they said.--Clyde Miller 20:33, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Charlotte County, Florida political section
Saying Charlotte County tends to vote for the GOP isn't POV. The county has gone Republican for President, Congress, and for most local offices long before you were born. And besides, I said the same thing about the Democrats and Broward County, Florida and am actually politically neutral anyway(both parties suck), baseing in on raw election data. But point taken and source has been cited. Jcam 00:56, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Someone else can view that as an opinion. Congratulations on being the 1st person to bring up my age for no reason whatsoever, it reflects wonderfully on your reasoning. -FullMetal Falcon

Start class?
I'm curious as to why you chose that rating for the Meta Knight article. Believe me, just about everything that can be written about Meta Knight is on that page! o_o I've wracked my brain for more on him, but he's just not a character anyone knows much about. Do you have any input on what could be added? (Please don't say 'more sources'. There aren't any unless you count the games themselves. ;_; He's one of those intentionally super-vague characters... Out of curiosity, Are you going to get F-Zero GX up to FA? Or were you leaving?--Clyde (talk) 03:42, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Still needed elsewhere? What happened? Was it your FAC with Captain Falcon that made you briefly retire and still consider it? All you need for F-Zero is another peer review, maybe a call to the league of copyeditors, then FAC (which is like another peer review). I know a guy who has done a lot of work for GACs, and I could ask him if he has some pointers, if you want. What's your call?--Clyde (talk) 20:27, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well if you don't mind, I'll make a couple calls. I know how it is when other people help with your project, but you said you need some increased effort, so I'll do what I can. I'll stick it on Peer review and ask for some help.--Clyde (talk) 22:51, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- lol. I've had PR problems in the past as well, and I see too many entries go unnoticed. If you want, you could put Caption Falcon up for GA, and I could ask Green451 to review it. He gave me a "miny" peer review when he put Duck Hunt on hold. He's very thourough, and will help you a lot. Or you could try another peer review for Captain Falcon, or talk to some of the major contributors to Link (FA) or Mario (GAC).--Clyde (talk) 23:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I don't think any of those people were in the FAC for Empires (1 or 2). Also, if you want Captain Falcon copyedited, you might want to go to the League of Copyeditors.--Clyde (talk) 23:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

re: F-Zero
Hi,
I'm honoured that you chose to ask my opinion, considering that I have a lesser edit count and less time spent here than yourself. I will try to list some things that I think need work before this can become an FA, starting from the top:
Infobox
- The F-Zero logo image needs a fair use rationale. For an ideal example of an FU rationale in a game article, see Image:FFVIIbattlexample.jpg. The same goes for all other images in the article, which need more detailed ones.
- Instead of putting all of the release dates in the infobox, I would instead put "See List of F-Zero games" (a comment I was going to write about the games section was to split the list of games off into a seperate article titled, List of F-Zero games. See List of Final Fantasy titles, a featured list, as a good example.)
Lead
- Why mention that "the game concept gives little focus to "car combat"", when there are many other racing games that don't have combat. If you think this should be mentioned, I would put it further down the article, possibly in the overview section, or as part of a section dealing with what makes F-Zero games unique from other racing games (just an idea).
- "Graphical capabilities"? What does this mean? That the games have detailed graphics, fast graphics, or something else?
- Because it has not yet been explained what "pilots" are, and "inspiring" seems a bit POV (unless you can back that up with a citation of a review who called the pilots and settings inspiring), I would instead say "unique characters and settings".
Overview
- You can remove the first sentence from the first paragraph ("As mentioned by the manual..."), as it's not necessary because you are using inline citations for that. If anyone wants to know where the info is coming from, they can just check the references. I would, however, replace the sentence with something else so that the prose "flow" is kept.
Story
- As a general note, this section could do with many more citations for all the "facts" presented, as this is backstory and not actual gameplay, I assume.
- "Taking place in the 24th century, F-Max was the precursor to the F-Zero races. This competition predates the coming of F-Zero by some 200 years." Revise this to something like, "Taking place in the 24th century, F-Max was the precursor to the F-Zero races by some 200 years." (better flow).
- We need a reference that states that F-Max races came 200 years before F-Zero races and took place in the 24th century.
- In "F-Max era", there is a self-reference, "(see chronology)". To avoid this, I would instead wikilink "further inconsistencies" to the chronology section of the article.
- Also in that section, change the dash after reference 2 to a semicolon.
- In "Original F-Zero Era", there is no need to wikilink 2560, as it's unlikely that there will be an article anytime soon.
- The section has past-tense/present-tense conflicts. Choose one or the other.
- A citation is needed that says the F-Zero Grand Prix was founded by space merchants.
- Change "When the first one was held" to "When the first race was held" or "When the first event was held" ("one" is not specific enough, and too casual).
- "It purportedly has billions of fans, many of whom like to gamble on the outcomes of races" needs a citation.
- In "Horrific Grand Finale", Huge Accident should be in quotes and a wikilink should be provided to the appropriate section of the article.
- Horrific Grand Finale should be in quotes so that people don't think it's a capitalization error.
- Wikilink Super Arrow.
- Wikilink Zoda.
- The last sentence of "F-Zero X Era" ("It is unknown, but likely...") should be removed as original research unless you can provide a citation.
Characters
- There are currently over forty pilots? How many were there in the first game? Perhaps include a sentence dealing with the fact that more characters are added with each installment (if this is true). Something like, "While there were originally X pilots in the original F-Zero game, this has grown to over fourty in the latest installment", etc.
I have spent quite a bit of time typing, so I'll leave you with these comments for the moment. When I have some more time (which should be soon), I'll go through the rest of the article. Hope this helps, Green451 18:08, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Addendum: If this is too detailed, and you just wanted a rough idea of how much work would be needed to get to FA, I would say quite a bit. There are definitely some good parts, but there are some sections that are a bit rough, that's all. Green451 18:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Long Reply
Well as to being back, I couldn't stay away more than a couple days. I'm probably going to be at low editing until the week after next because I have stuff going on, but there is too much here to do, and over the last four days I would go on but not edit. Kinda counter-productive. As to constructive stuff, I agree with you that the reception section needs some more quotes. I find the best combo for writing recepetion sections would be to intersperse vague impressions and specific details. However, I think it's okay as is, since most people approve of a paraphrased citied sentence as much as the direct quote. I find that direct quotes do the job better. So, rambling aside, you might want to consider something like this:
F-Zero was generally praised among the critical community, earning a 89% on gamerankings. Gamespot stated that "if you want a light-speed racer that looks and plays sharply while simultaneously offering some dramatic challenges, F-Zero GX is exactly what you're looking for." and "there's a lot going on in F-Zero GX." Gamespot was not totally convinced, noting, "There are a couple miniscule issues to speak of here (a few less than spectacular tracks, a daunting difficulty), but those noted F-Zero GX is still my favorite racer this generation, by far."
The usual setup is PP 1=General comments (opening and closing quotes work well) and then PP 2 and 3= exceptionally good and bad things (the stuff you've included already, except in quote form). Then you have your PP about sales figures and the like. I also ran into people during FAs who wanted me to include a PP which compared the game to other games like it. You may want to compare it to the sucess of other F-Zero games.
As to the missions section, delete it, send to strategy wiki and the like if you really want to. Sorry about the length, but uh yeah, I hope this answers your question.--Clyde (talk) 03:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

re: F-Zero GX
You might want to consider posting it at CVG. I'm not sure if that's frowned upon or not, but it would certainly raise awareness.--Clyde (talk) 23:36, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Regarding Metroid
"Isn't the Metroid Prime games listed as first-person adventures? FMF|contact 00:11, 27 February 2007 (UTC)"
I assume this is about me removing them from the adventure games list? I'm sorry, I forgot to replace it with the action-adventure list. I am what some would call an "Adventure game purist". Adventure games are my favourite games, and I am very not happy that action-adventure games often are called adventure games. A first-person adventure game would be Myst, RAMA, Shivers, etc. Metroid Prime is nothing like them. It's a first-person action-adventure and I'd like it if people would stop confusing the two genres. I've recently started cleaning up the adventure game list (it pains me to see what kind of non-adventure games are listed there), and now, I have removed MP for the earlier mentioned reasons. I will now put them in the action-adventure list though.DreamingLady 06:35, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
