Help

[edit]

I need help with the Young Scot article. I'm new and don't understand some of the issues that have been identified in the article. Something to do with referencing or something like that. Hope someone can help! Thanks Ryant633 (talk) 21:22, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What it looks like according to those tags, is that what it reads like is an advertisement i.e. Like its promoting something. It doesn't cite any References or sources. Means what it says. To learn how to format references see WP:REFBEGIN. The other one, means it may not meet the Notability Guidelines see WP:NOTE, for the guidelines. What helps meet it is that if the article states what it is notable for, and includes independent sources to back up that claim, and the information in the article. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 21:54, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, I forgot to mention references are items that help back up a claim or statement, like to verify that it is correct. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 21:56, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed; the article should be based on coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the organization, such as articles about it published in newspapers or reputable magazines. The more specific notability guideline for organizations is WP:ORG. Huon (talk) 22:13, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
