Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Santu Sinha (talk) 09:30, 27 February 2016 (UTC) i made some mistake & i am sorry about that. This is a real page. Please publish my page properly. Thank you[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Santu Sinha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —teb728 t c 11:20, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 11:42, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Writing about yourself

[edit]

Thank you for your message on my user talk page. Please take a moment to read this information, which I believe will answer your questions about why your user page is tagged for deletion. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag again. As for Wikipedia articles (as opposed to user pages), they have to be about notable subjects, and autobiographies are strongly discouraged. If what you have done is notable, according to Wikipedia's definition of notability, somebody who is completely unconnected to you will probably create an article about you sooner or later, but at the moment I'm afraid that you (like most of the people in the world) are not yet notable according to Wikipedia. Please do not create new articles about yourself. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 11:53, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bonadea's advice is good. Wikipedia is not a social-networking site like Facebook or LinkedIn where people write about themselves. There is more explanation at WP:NOTWEBHOST:

"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Santu Sinha. Please make your case on the page's talk page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:49, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
